After my years of hell in elementary and middle school, I finally got to highschool where my joy soon came. It was my first day at Renaissance Charter School and I thought I didn't know a soul there. I had gotten braids , big box braids. Going through the school day, I got  many compliments on my skin and hair and just how beautiful I was. During lunch, I recognized a few people who bullied me and they wanted to be my friends. Of course , I said no, because if they could bully me, they could bully someone else. I mean this is high school , they couldn't have changed within 2 1/2 months of summer break from 8th grade to 9th grade ! I became more and more confident in myself. I loved who I had become . I was Anurife Motunriyo the Nigerian Queen. Embracing my melanin , became a trend for all dark skinned girls . So guys, love yourself no matter what tone, ethnicity, race, or gender you are ! Once you love yourself, people will love you too. Don't let anyone tell you anything about who you are. You know you're beautiful and of course not everyone will have the same opinion, but that doesn't mean it isn't true . You're amazing, beautiful, awesome, just the way you are. Anurife took a long time to figure that out, but don't let that be you. Always believe in yourself. Because trust me those who mock you will Be the same people who will laugh and rejoice with you . Being a Nigerian has impacted my life in many ways . I don't go to the average baptist or Methodist church . I attend a Pentecostal church called Cherubim & Seraphim Church movement. I used to be afraid to share my values, and beliefs and my culture and traditions. But today, I am no longer afraid. I am proud . People are proud and still jealous of course that I know my heritage and people love that I know it

This is the end . Love you slims !
