Chapter 4 Big News

As we watched the movie, I wasn't really paying attention. Besides, we just watched Scream and I've already seen it like a million times. But apparently Dylan hasn't. I swear every 5 minutes he screamed. It was pretty adorable though. All I could think about was how he was acting before. Was it possible that he was being serious when he said there's going to be another date? He sounded sincere. I still can't believe that after that embarrassing dare, he actually wanted to take me out!

After the movie, I couldn't help but burst into laughter. He just looked at me, with those adorable scared eyes, and asked "Why the hell are you laughing so hard? That was absolutely terrifying!"

"Y-you said that you wanted to watch a scary movie so you could hold me close to you. And you were the only one who was scared, and screamed." I said, trying to contain my laughter.

He just looked at me and started laughing too. We decided to have a Scream marathon and with a lot more screaming, we finished at about ten o'clock. All I could do was try to not laugh. But since I hadn't seen Scream 4 until today, I have to admit that I screamed at the sight of all the blood. I can't really handle gore very well. He looked at the time and stood up, getting ready to leave.

"Well, I'll see you later Rachie. Today was fun." He smiled at me and I swear I could melt. He was just so gorgeous and perfect and all I can think is about how amazing he is. Then I realized he was waiting for me to respond.

I shook my thoughts away. "Yeah, it was great. See ya, Dyl." I said, smiling.

As he left my house, I couldn't help but think about our day. Having a movie marathon isn't very typical for a first date but it was still amazing. Just spending time with him was super awesome. I wonder when he's going to take me out to our next date. I wonder where we're going to go.

"Rachel! Rachel, are you home?" I hear my dad yell from the front door.

"I'm in the family room, dad! What's up?" As I was talking he walked in and waved me into the kitchen.

"I brought Chinese! So, I have big news. But first, how was your day? Anything exciting happen?" By his tone, I could tell he just wanted me to suffer by dragging out his big news. I had a pretty good relationship with my dad, he was pretty chill.

"Same old, same old. So, what's this big news you speak of?" I asked, while getting my rice and chicken. I really love food, and chinese is definitely one of my favourites.

"Well, remember how I told you that I was planning on proposing to Abby? I finally did it today! We took a walk in the park and we got to the little gazebo. I decorated it with white and pink roses earlier in the day and as soon as Abby and I stepped into it, she looked around in amazement. I got down on one knee and as soon as she looked at me I asked if she would marry me. She said yes! We have a wedding to plan now!" My dad looked like the happiest person in the world. He really deserved it, too.

Abby is my dad's girlfriend. She's the sweetest person you'll ever meet, and I love her. She's honestly the best. She has two kids, a son that's 12 and a daughter that's 17. Her son John is just a normal annoying kid but I'm excited for him to finally be my actual brother. Her daughter Charlotte is awesome. We get along great and she's already like my little sister. I'm so excited to finally have siblings! Being an only child is super boring, although at least I have Mimi, Blossom and Makenna!

"Oh my god! Congratulations dad! This is awesome!" I was so happy for him! After my mom left, my dad deserves happiness with someone as awesome as Abby.

"Yeah, it's going to be amazing! Well, I'm going to head to bed now. Night" He said as he walked out of the kitchen.

"Night!" I called. As I finished my food, I decided to go up to my room.

When I walked in, I grabbed my laptop and sat on my bed. I opened tumblr and scrolled through my dashboard for a while, reblogging and liking a bunch of pictures. Then I checked facebook and twitter, and saw nothing interesting. I set my alarm and went to bed, thinking of how great this day was.

Okay, so I know this is super short. But hey, I wrote it all on a tablet and it was super annoying. Don't blame me, blame my broken computer. This is my first published writing so I know it's not the best but it's good for my first time, right? Well, I hope you enjoyed!

AND YES The main character and I have the same name, but that's because Lynn was going to name it after me since I gave her the idea for the story but then she asked me to cowrite it with her so that's just how it ended up.
