The moon shines through the window in tiny streams of light. Sean lays on his bed in the darkness. His bedsheets lie in a disheveled mess. All that can be seen is the moon's bright beams.
The beads of sweat on his forehead is dampening his hair, making it look sloppy. His bangs stuck to his forehead, as it was kind of hot, which was also why he lay shirtless.
Sean, can we have some fun now?
"No, Jack, not ever," he replies out loud, out of habit since he's home alone, "Only my family knows about you. If my friends were to find out....." Jack sighs.
Yeah, yeah....There would be consequences. You've told me before. LIKE ONE HUNDRED TIMES.
Sean can feel the intensity of Jack's words inside himself, because Jack's feelings were his feelings. Jack was a separate part of himself, after all... In fact, right now he was feeling disappointed. It made me feel kinda disappointed too. Why did I have to have such a situation set upon me?? The good part about it, though, was that he couldn't control me completely like he used to be able to. I don't know why, but it's like he lost the power to do so. I hope to find out why soon.
Please, Sean?? I need this! And you do, too. You need to learn to have some fun!
"I have enough fun," I tell him, as I uncover myself and walk to the mirror that hangs on the wall. I take a look at myself. My hair is sticky with sweat. It's even matted in some places. I whip it out of my eyes and that's when I look down, lower. I gaze upon my toned abs. I haven't been working out as much as I used to, but I still go every now and then. That doesn't mean I haven't slacked off, it just means that I've at least tried to keep my exercise schedule consistent.
Sean!!! Call Lia!
"No," I tell Jack again, "Lianna's prolly asleep."
You know she likes you, right? And she likes when you call her Lia. It lets her know how much you care.
My heart clenches.
I do like her as more than a friend. I can't keep denying that to myself. Lying to myself, and Jack, is impossible, especially anymore. But why wouldn't I be nervous?? Her name sounds very old fashioned, but I like it. It sounds like a name from medieval times, or like someone out of a fairy tale.
I know you're in love with her. You can't lie to me. I'm a part of you.
"I know, maybe tomorrow," I yawn and get back into bed.
Sean, come on...call her. You know you want to.
I cover myself back up and yawn for the second time, "No, she won't be awake."
How do you know that if you haven't even tried??
"Fine!" I huff, grabbing my phone in a fury. I go to my contacts and notice the name I gave her contact. Lia Lion. I don't remember why I named it that.
No, wait, I remember. It was because of an inside joke between us back in school. Something about, if you could be any animal, what would you be and why...? Lia picked Lion because she said it was a very fair creature. It only did what it had to to survive and she said she'd like to think that she did the same.
I chuckle at the memory.
I sigh and dial her number.
It rings once.....twice....thr-?
"Hello?" A sleepy voice answers. Even when she's tired, she sounds cute.
I whisper a little, "Hey, Lianna, it's Sean." I said Sean because that's what she knows me by. Plus, I only use Jack's name when I have to. Only then.
"Ohhgh, hey, what are you doing up this early?" She laughs slightly.
"Couldn't sleep," I admit effortlessly.
I hear her shuffle around some, as if trying to get in the right position. "Well, I have nightmares every night, but I'd rather not have them tonight."
"So you can't sleep, either?"
She lets out a heavy breath, "No, I can't, because whenever I do, I have bizarre dreams that turn into nightmares, real quick."
"Do you....." I hesitate to ask.
Say it, Sean! She wants you to say it, I can tell. Just say it!
I'm brave, I declare in my head, so I do it. "Do you want to come over here and sleep?"
Silence. She doesn't say a word. I wait for her to say something, and surely enough....eventually, she does.
"Sure," I can hear the smile in her voice, "Be over there in a few." Then she hangs up.
I set my phone down on my nightstand, where it lay before.
I decide, while I'm waiting for her to get here, I'll watch something on Netflix.
Hey guys this is a new thing for me, so go easy on me, k? I'm just now getting the hang of these kind of things.
I'll update soon.
