*Three Weeks Later*

"It's amazing how much life can change, especially when you aren't realizing the changes  as they occur," I think as I walk into the atrium of the hospital and sigh as I make my way-slowly- to the upstairs locker room.

I change into a nice pair of scrubs-as in "nice," I really mean the only clean pair I have at the moment in time.

"Dr. Gramm..." I heard the same familiar voice begin to speak softly in my ear as I grab a patient file and begin to walk into an exam room.

"What do you want Eli? I'm busy, can't you just acknowledge that?" I ask him with a bothered tone as I turn away from him and walk away distinctively.

"I just need to talk to you," he states as I walk further.

"Dr. Ashley, may you please present?" I ask an intern for I believe that this case is proportional to her own potential- her key to success.

She presents and I feel very confident as so does she. I ask her what she needs to do in regards to the patient's treatment and being. As I walk out of the room, I feel a brush of air as a patient's bed is rushed to the end of the hall. As soon as it passes, I continue to walk to the nurses' station to get another case. Before I could make it to the desk, my pager goes off.

"It's a 911, I have to head the Trauma Wing," I state to the nurses and begin to run from the Cardio. Ward to the Trauma Ward.

"What's the case Dr. James?" I ask gasping for air after uniting with the other doctors on the team as well as with the patient.

"Multi-Car Collision. There are more patients to come," he states, " I still have to talk to you in private."

"Okay, and talk about what?" I question with worry, doubt and puzzling confusion.

"About us," he states.
