The bell has finally rung, and summer has just began. No more stress, no more homework, plus I get to stay up all night, and sleep in as long as I want. Just thinking about it makes me excited. Most kids around my age are excited for parties and vacation, but I don't really have any friends or even that much money. I guess you could say I'm just a nerdy 14 year old who was lucky enough to get into a good high school. Well, good education at least.

"Yo Dweeb, ova here," shouted some gang member looking guys with prissy girls hanging all over them. All the guys were wearing red, so I immediately knew they didn't stop by to chat.

"Me?" I asked as I pointed towards myself, although it was pretty obvious who they were talking to. One of the guys walked over and wrapped his arm around my neck, and then whispered in my ear.

"Why don't we take a little walk"

"Um, I don't know, I mean I'm kind of busy. Plus if I'm late my mother will get concerned." I replied.

"Come on, it'll be quick." he said.

They started to lead me off of school grounds and into a dark alley way, but that's when a curious head poked out from around the corner. The tall, thin boy with scarlet hair walked towards the group and almost seemed to be threatening them just by making eye contact. It was Quinn, he always seems to be around when I'm in trouble, almost like he's watching over me.

"Ya know, it's not very polite to mug a girl who doesn't even have much money to begin with." he said.

"Hey, you don't have much room to talk!" I replied

"Just calm down Jayde." he said.

One of the smaller guys stepped in front of me as the others pulled out their knifes and charged him. Right then they had made a huge mistake, Quinn may look thin and weak, but he is one of the strongest and fastest people I've ever met. The girls squealed and ran as Quinn dodged the first attack and flipped the guy over. As he laid there in pain, another gang member jumped over him and got kicked to the ground in mid-air. Quinn ran past the other two and grabbed my hand, pulling me after him. The two that remained chased after us.

I've never felt this feeling before, being so scared but yet so calm at the same time. My hand being in Quinn's was so comforting. We approached an old abandoned house that was falling apart.

"Come on, we have to keep running or they'll catch up to us,"I said in a concerned tone.

"Nah, we'll be fine." he said," Now come, let's go towards that house."

"Quinn, what the hell are you thinking, if we go in that house it'll just collapse on top of us!"

with a smart attitude he replied," I never said we had to go in, I said let's go towards it."

The two gang members came around the corner shouting, they started to speed up and gain confidence once they saw us.

"Okay let's go," I said, and once again, Quinn had grabbed my hand and pulled me after him. Once we reached a certain point in the yard, a bright light shone in our eyes and everything went blank.
