I opened my eyes but I was no longer in the yard of the old house. I sat up and looked around, I was alone on a grassy hill top. My memory was fuzzy, and I was all alone in a place I had never been before. All I can remember was that I was with Quinn.

"Quinn!" I shouted,"Quinn!?"

"Over here," he replied as he poked his head out from behind a tree.

"Oh thank goodness, I thought I was all alone. Come on, come out from behind that silly old tree"

"Ya, you know what, I think I'm comfortable right where I am." he replied.

"Are you hiding something from me?" I asked.

In a nervous tone he responded," Nope!"

I ran towards him and before he could run I grabbed his arm. I stared straight into his golden eyes and he was definitely hiding something.

"Please don't be scared!" he said.

"Why would I be scared, they're amazing!" I replied." they're so beautiful," I said as I ran around him and closely observed the red and black butterfly like wings sprouting from his back. They seemed to match him perfectly, everything from his messy side swept fringe, to his plain grey shirt and black jeans. They were scarlet and black with white stripes along the edges. I was so amazed that I forgot about how scared I was and all the important questions I had to ask.

Quinn sat me down and told me pretty much everything. Apparently he had pulled me through a gate and into another world known as Startopia, which had tons of mythical creatures and items. Long ago a prophecy was told that a young girl with the name of a jem would defeat a deadly foe and become the hero of this world, or she will join forces with them and Startopia would vanish forever. Because of that, Quinn was sent to earth to watch over me and make sure everything went smoothly. I have to hand it to him though, if anything went wrong he would get the blame and would probably be punished for it. After he told me about how I got here and where I was, he kept going on about the creatures and places throughout the land.

"Oh yeah, one more thing." he said

"Ya, what is it?" I replied

"In this world you can't call me Quinn, my name is Crimson," he said as I stood there with a blank expression on my face, not knowing how to react. He started walking away and motioned me to join him. The sun had already set and tons of sakura trees created a path for us to walk along. I felt like a child, running around and getting amazed at everything I saw. There were giant birds soaring through the sky, pink petals dancing through the wind, and clear crisp streams running through the forest. we crossed a couple of small bridges and stopped every once and a while to rest. We sat down on a boulder for another rest as Crimson started making a fire.

"We'll camp out here tonight and reach the city tomorrow."he said.

"Could you tell me more about this person that I'm supposed to beat?" I asked.

"That's the problem," he said. " we're not really sure who this person is. Plus, do you even know how to fight?"

"Well, not exactly. But I've seen you fight, you could train me!" I replied.

"No no, you have to pick your fighting style before you can find someone to train you. My style is hand to hand combat, and that seems a little rough for someone like you." he responded

"Are you saying I'm weak?!" I asked slightly angrily.

"No, what I'm saying is that I think you might be better of with some sort of weapon, maybe a sword or something like that." he replied. "But you must know, you weren't the only one brought into this world because of the prophecy."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well we weren't sure who the prophecy was made for, so we gathered as many young girls with jem names as we could." he said." You need to watch out though, because once the other human girls find you, they might not like the thought of not being a hero, having all the riches, and getting all the boys. But don't worry, once we get into town we'll find out what your fighting style is, and maybe even a trainer. So for now just get some sleep"

He laid down by the fire with his back facing me. With nothing left to do, I laid down across from him, facing the fire and went to sleep.
