Empty
Everything seems empty and worthless
My life is fading
All I've ever known is gone
My home is hell
I'm alone
No one is here for me
I have nothing to live for
Do it Ida
Why try anymore
You have nothing left
My life is ruined
No one will miss you
I can't handle the voices
Who loves a depressed girl
I'm nothing
Just do it
Suicide.

"Ida?"
Death
"Ida?"
Blood
"Ida your coffee is ready."
Suicide
"Ma'am?"
"What?"
My eyes widen as I look up at the employee with a coffee in his hands.
"I'm sorry. I was spacing."
A smile crawls across his plump lips making his freckled cheeks puff a little more.
"It's okay. I understand, here's your coffee."
I stand slowly and reach for my cup forgetting about the deep red lines across my wrist. His eyes widen as his smile falls from his tanned face.
"Oh sweetie..."
His voice fades as he looks at my pink wrists.
"Why would you?"
His voice is full of concern and I yank on my sleeves until they covered my wrists fully. I can't look at him. I would cry and I already have the cafe staring at me from the fact I was caught in my thoughts.
"We can't talk here. I don't want people knowing...."
I pause and look up at the sweet hearted boy who's eyes were brimming with tears.
"I may not know you but sometimes a stranger needs a stranger's shoulder. Here's my number."
I say and take his sharpie from his shirt pocket and write my name and number on the top of his hand holding it tightly.
"Call me after your shift. Okay?"
He closed his eyes letting a tear fall.
"My name is Ryleigh."
He didn't look up as he spoke. He was broken like I am.
"Call when you get out Ryleigh. I'll make sure to answer."
He gives me a nod, wipes his eyes, hands me my coffee with a small smile and goes back behind the counter to help the line go down.

Bariiing
Bariiiing
"Hello?"
"Ida... It's Ryleigh. I need help."
His voice came soft through the phone.
"What do you mean?"
"Meet me behind the shop. I'll explain everything."
"Ryleigh why there?"
"Trust me."
The line goes dead as my anxiety kicks in. I sigh and grab my jacket and run out the door since the cafe was only a block away.

"Ryleigh?"
I look up to find a noose hanging from the railing outside of the escape exit.
"Ryleigh?!"
I scream getting even more worried.
"I wanted to. I wanted to die."
I scream turning around to face Ryleigh. I push him back as I cover my face with my sweating hands.
"I'm sorry I scared you Ida... I won't hurt you."
He showed his palms so I saw he had nothing in them.
"Wh-What do you mean you wanted to?"
"I had no one who showed a single care about me. Everyone laughed and judged me for getting soft when I saw a cut or scar that was self produced in anyone.... Until you. You didn't judge me. You understood that it was something more. You trusted me and gave me your number.."
I watch him as he talks. He grabbed his sleeves pushing them up his arms. Fresh cuts trailing up his arms became visible. Dried blood laid on his arms where he smudged it trying to make them stop.
"Ryleigh... Why are you showing me this?"
His eyes darted up to the noose.
"Hey!"
I grab his face making him look at me.
"Ryleigh you have a life ahead of you. You have people who have always been there for you. I'm a stranger, why are you opening up?"
His face began to burn under my fingers as he fell apart in front of me.
"I HAVE NO ONE IDA!!"
His voice echoed off the buildings as he fell out of my grip. His body fell like a sack of bricks down to the hot concrete. He fell apart, tearing at the seams.
"Ryleigh... Please don't cry."
"How can I not? I don't even fücking know you and I'm telling you my story. My life is so gone. My hope left me with my sanity and my only friend. He killed himself two years ago, the same day my parents died. I have nothing but the big empty house full of hollow memories."
I slowly sat down in front of him and lightly kissed his sweating forehead taking his hands into mine. He face didn't rise as I moved closer to hold him in my arms.
"Ida no."
I let my face begin to fall as he pushed me back.
"We don't know each other. Why do you want to hold me Ida? I could hurt you."
"If you hurt me Ryleigh I'll live through it. I've been through worse before. I already care for you. I couldn't get you off my mind all day. Connections start in an instant. Please trust me."
"I can't hurt you. I just can't."
"You can't hurt me worse than I have hurt myself."
"Ida.."
He let his head rise as I stood and began climbing the ladders up to where the noose hung. I placed the thick rope around my neck and sat on the edge of the catwalk.
"I've been wanting to do this for so long..."
I whisper softly running my shaking fingers over the rope and the many thoughts came running back.

Do it Ida
He's waiting for you
DO IT

"IDA!!"

Let go
Fall

"Don't do this now!"
His frantic fingers began dialing as I shook my head.
"Ryleigh?"
His head snapped up at me from the ladder below waiting for my voice to come again.
"Tell my story..."

JUMP IDA

"IDA DON'T!"

Darkness is so warming. It takes you in and holds you. Let's you be the person you are since no one can see. Why haven't I done this sooner?
