But it's worth it. Promise

It was closing time and Grillby lead me out the door.
".........you'll be okay?" He asked.
I nodded and shuffled to my house. It was quiet and lacked the smell of burning spaghetti. I fell face first onto the couch and turned towards the TV. I didn't bother turning it on, I just stared at the blank screen.

--------------------*Flashback*---------------------

I woke up to something jump onto my chest. Something heavy yet fragile if that makes sense. I opened an eye to see Papyrus in my face smiling.
"Wake up, Sans! I wanna play!" He shouted when he saw my eye open. I smiled and closed them again.
"Nope. Sorry," I replied. "But...I don't have the 'guts' to say no to you," I said, a smile growing.
"Aww no! It's only 8 and your already making bad puns?" He asked.
I stood up and opened my rooms door and let him walk out.
"Come on. I know you a-door my jokes," I said, he groaned and walked to the kitchen. I walked after him hands in my blue jackets pockets. I frowned when I saw a note on the kitchen table.

Sorry Sans and Papyrus. Had to work early again. Be good boys and get to school. Make sure to eat breakfast too. And be safe. And-

The 'd's kickstand went across the width of the paper showing how in a rush they were to leave this morning. Papyrus asked what it said.
"They told you to be a good Royal Guard," I said getting cups down for the both of us.
"And you?"
"Meh doesn't matter," I said with a shrug. As long as your safe, I'll be fine I thought to myself. He smiled and took the cup I handed him.
I got the orange juice out.
"When it comes to drinks, citrus fruit juice is always in the limelight," I said earning a glare from my brother. "You'll learn to love these." I poured him some and gave him leftover spaghetti that was from last night.
When he was done eating, he got our backpacks. He handed me mine carefully as if it were a live grenade. I helped him put his boots on and we walked out of the house into the snowy town of Snowdin.
School started ten minutes before we got there so we had to go to the office.

When we walked in I saw the attendance lady. Well I think it was a lady.
"Why were you two late?" The attendance person asked.
"Um..."I looked up, trying to look like I was remembering when I was really trying to make something up.
"Dogs. They chased us." We're never going to hear the end of the 'dog finally decided to chase the bones and not it's tail deal' I thought.
"Dogs?" It asked raising what I think was an eye brow.
"N-" Papyrus started. I covered his mouth gently.
"Yep. Dogs," I reassured standing tippy toed in order to cross my arms on the counter. The attendance person glared daggers at me for a few minutes.
"Go to your classes you two," the person growled, handing us passes.
We walked down the hall. Finally we got to Papyrus' class room. He was a couple years younger than me and he was still beginning to be a bit taller than me.
"Have fun, Papy," I said rubbing his head.
"You too, Sansy," He replied knocking on his classrooms door. I smiled and began walking to my classroom.

I knocked and Mrs. Merdoc opened the door. Her face showing pure anger.
"Late again are we, Sans?" She scolded. "And of course on HP testing day."
'Oh shoot I forgot about that,' I thought to myself. I smiled nervously and took my seat. I pulled my hoodie over my head to try and avoid the eyes of my classmates. They snickered and jeered at me for being yelled at by the teacher.

After attendance was retaken, a person came up on the intercom for our class. They called names one at a time. One kid would leave and come back with a piece of paper and a smile on their face.
Suddenly, I heard my name. Cautiously I got up and went to the clinic where we were getting tested. I peeked around the doorway and saw syringes. Slowly I walked in and was greeted by a man in a grey suit, a hoodie covering his face.
He tested me and gave me the paper.
Halfway to my class I decided to look at what I got. My heart stopped when I read the number.

HP level
1

That was below average. Heck, that was below below average. I would be vulnerable to anything. Especially bullies. I didn't go back to class. I went to the restroom and stared at the piece of paper until school was let out.
I jammed the paper in my pocket and went to find Papyrus. I found him by an annoying dog that had previously been a menace to the town. I placed a fake smile and went to him.
"Come on, Papy. Let's go home," I whispered grabbing his hand. He smiled and began walking home with me.
I glanced both ways every chance I could.
'How would I tell him? How could I tell Papy?' I thought to myself when we got to the house. Papy ran inside and to his room. He laughed and jumped on the couch. I shook my head.
"Come on, Papy. Don't do that," I mumbled, sitting on the floor arms folded.
"Are you okay," He squeaked, his eyes showing fear. I shook my head and looked over at the carpet and it's multitude of fuzzies coming off. He crawled to me and looked at me with pity. I looked away.
The door to the house opened suddenly and...

The neighbor walked in.
"Hi there," She said in a fake cheery voice," your dad called us and told us you needed to be watched tonight. And since my son goes to school with you I decided to have you guys have a sleep over," She said in a babied up high pitched voice.
"No we're fine. Its okay. You and your son can go home," I said hastily. Maybe a little too quickly. Her face srunched.
"It's okay," I repeated. She smiled. A fake one of course.
"Sorry, but it's your dad's orders, " She said bluntly.
'Yeah some dad. Never home with us,' I thought. Her son walked in and smiled.
"Hello," He greeted with false advertisement. I scowled under the fluff of my hood.
It was him. The class bully.
"Why don't you two go to your room. And take my son along too," She said. I growled quietly as I led him to Papyrus' and my room.
"This is your room?" He scoffed, clicking his tongue in disgust. Papy's eyes began to water.
"Hey you watch your mouth," I hissed, pointing at him.
"Or what? Your going to get hurt, runt. I know what your HP is. Its-"
That was it. The last straw was broken. He floated up surrounded in a blue aura. My hand guided where he went. I slammed him onto the ground. He panted and got up.
"What the?" He pointed to my face and ran out of my room. I heard them both leave the house slamming the door shut.
I looked over to Papyrus and smiled. He didn't smile back. He was backed into a corner, crying.
"What is it Papy-" I asked walking up to him. I stopped when I was in front of his mirror I got him for Christmas. When I saw my reflection, I stepped away from Papyrus. Tears stung my eyes.
"I'm sorry, Papy," I said backing up to the wall opposite him.
After half an hour, he crawled over to me. My hoodie was wet with tears and I still wasn't able to put the light out in my left eye. He looked and me and frowned.
"Be happy, Sansy. Sad doesn't fit you."
