Your name is [F/N] [L/N]. You're 20 years old and you are a student at a local college. You moved here to Florida after you graduated from high school. Ever since then you've been trying to get used to being on your own.
You walked into the restaurant, scanning around for your best friend, Jade Harley. You two had known each other since diapers and were practically inseparable. It's only necessary that every Sunday that you two make plans to hang out all day.
"Is this a party of one?" A waitress asked, as you were awkwardly standing alone in the waiting area.
"Oh, no, I'm meeting with a 'Jade Harley'." You tell her. She scopes a reservation book and says, "Ah yes, follow me." She sets down the book and you follow her across the dinning area until you see Jade sitting down, looking at her phone.
"Jade!" You beam. She looks up and smiles. "[Y/N], you look wonderful!" She cheers. You sit down across from her, immediately eyeing the menu. "So, have you talked to your dad yet?" Jade asked.
Oh, him. You and your father never had a stable relationship. You had no idea he lived in the same city as you did until after you moved here, which really fucking sucks."No, and I don't plan to. He's a callous asshole and I hate him." You scoff.
"You've gotta give him a chance!" Jade insisted. The waitress walks over and you two order your meal. Talking to your narcissistic, self-absorbed father was the last thing on your agenda. Jade has always wanted you two to make up, but like hell you were giving in.
Finally, after moving from the subject of your father, and striking up some small chat, your food arrived. "How has college been working out for you?" Jade asked. No response. She looked up at you and gasped. You gripped the tablecloth with one hand, holding your throat with the other.
"Oh my god, [Y/N]!" Jade freaked out, getting up and darting over to you, hitting your back. Bystanders of the restaurant gasped and some stood up, ready to call an ambulance. "Someone do something, it isn't coming up!" Jade cried out.
"That's because you're doing it wrong." A masculine, yet mellow voice, with a lisp in it,sighed. A young guy with light brown hair and 3-D glasses walked over. He wrapped his arms around your abdomen. He grasped his fist with his other hand and pressed into your upper abdomen with a quick upward thrust. After a few tries, you finally coughed up the discarded piece of food, gasping for air. Everyone around the dinning area clapped their hands in honor of the mysterious man's heroic act.
Jade ran over and hugged you. You planned on thanking the cute guy who saved your life but when you turned around, he was gone.
