For the first time (seeing her)

Seeing

        "Oh my god  Carm I can't believe this is actually happening"  Laura giggles smiling "I know cupcake, you told me, several times" Carmilla says lightly.  They've been in a smelly waiting room for about thirty minutes, Laura had gotten her eye  surgery weeks ago and her eyes are finally able to be uncovered.  "Laura Hollis" a young nurse steps out of a door and Carmilla and Laura's dad stand up. "Come on Sweetheart" Laura's dad "Mike" says taking her gently by the arm and standing her up.  Carmilla and "Mike"  help her down a long hall into a room with machines and a desk with a computer on it.  "I'm going to take your vitals before anything Laura, just protocol". Laura is practically vibrating with excitement, once the nurse is finished she tells us "the doctor will be here in a few minutes".  It takes more than a few minutes and Carmilla mumbles "finally" when the doctor walks in.  "Alright Laura, if everything healed correctly and you've been doing as you're told you are about to be able to gain your eyesight!" The doctor sounds almost excited as Laura is.  "I assume you've been taking  the medication and not messing or scratching at them?" The doctor asks. "Yes!" Laura says excitedly, and she has, she hasn't even come close to touching her eyes and has set at least 3 alarms every couple hours to take her meds. "Alright then Laura" the doctor says rolling a chair towards Laura.  "I'm going to remove the patches now". Laura nods and the doctor gently reaches up and removes the large patch around Laura's right eye. Laura scrunched up her nose but keeps her eye squished together while the doctor removes the other. "Okay, open"  the doctor says, Laura slowly opens her eyes. She squints a little, then fully opens them, she looks around, seeing the world for the first time.  "Oh my god" Laura whimpers looking around, her eyes land on her dad "dad?" He nods. She runs over and jumps into his arms "Oh my god dad I can see! I can see I can see I can see!" Laura says hugging him. "Welcome to the world baby" Mike says hugging his daughter, Carmilla smiles. Suddenly Laura's eyes move over to Carmilla. She stares a moment, unwrapping herself from her dad, she turns and looks Carmilla up and down, making Carmilla feel very self conscious. "Oh my god" Laura whispers, Carm suddenly becomes self conscious  oh no, what if she thinks I'm ugly, what if what if- Laura suddenly sprints over to her, tackling a confused Carmilla to the ground. "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god oh-" Laura cries  into her shirt, Carmilla sighs a sigh of relief before asking "Hey, what's wrong cupcake?".  "You're more beautiful than I imagined" Laura says looking into Carmillas eyes And their lips connected. Making a perfect day, even better.
