I watched as he pushed buttons and pull levers. Then the TARDIS started shaking and moving. I grabbed on to the closet thing to me, the doctors arm. He looked at me confused for a second but then he gave me a dashing smile. I almost fainted. When i recovered the TARDIS stopped. I left go of his arm and looked away awkwardly. He didn't react to it at all. To break it I said "Doctor when or where are we?" He pointed and said "why don't you open the door and see for yourself." I didn't waist a second I ran over to the door and yanked it open. It was the most prettiest sight I ever saw. It was snowing! I knew this place. It was Penns Landing, Philadelphia, Pa. I jumped back in the TARDIS. "What year is it Doctor?" I said with excitement. He ran to the screen and read "The year 1641 when this state, well colony, was founded by Sir William Penn." He gave that dashing smile again. I probably blushed.
Together we walked out and stepped on the fresh snow together. It crunched under our feet. It may have been a beautiful sight but it was freezing out and I didn't quite have time to pack some sweaters when I left. I guess I was shaking and the Doctor noticed. I felt him put his jacket around me. It was really warm.
I smiled up at him and said "Thanks I was freezing." He smiled back and said "You're welcome." Then we started walking. "So Doctor why are we here?" I wondered. He made a face "Well this isn't really where I wanted to bring you. I was planning on somewhere else but the TARDIS had other plans. Maybe a distress call or something? Hmmmmm." He took out this thing that made weird noises and had a light that flashed green. "What's that thing?" I point at it. "This is a sonic screwdriver. It can, with the exception of a deadlock seal or wooden lock, open any type of lock and operate many computers, whether their origin is alien or human. Its pretty fun!" Hmmm theres just something about the Doctor that makes me feel safe with him. He's also kind of funny and childish. He makes my loneliness go away. It feels like I was never alone.
"So Marilyn were did you come from?" he asked while still walking. "What do you mean Doctor?" I stopped and at the same time he did to. "Why were you in that park all alone?" The pain started coming back. "I ran away from home. I felt like I was unwanted and they didn't want me so I ran away a couple days ago. No one has come looking for me," I started crying "except for you. Well you found me but I feel safe here with you Doctor. I just hope you wont leave me like everyone else has." He stared for a second and looked at me, then pulled me into a hug and whispered "Oh Marilyn, I would never leave you. You're sweet and beautiful. I don't know why anyone wouldn't want you around. Now stop crying you're getting that pretty face wet. We cant have that." He smiles and wipes the tears of my face and hugs me one last time. He let go but kept his hands on my shoulders. He looked at my face and stared into my eyes. He was waiting for something. I blushed and smiled. "That's what I was waiting for. Now Marilyn how bout you say we go have fun?" He let go of my shoulders only to take my arm. I laughed and blushed again "Alright Doctor. Lets go!" We started running for no reason. Then I hear him yell "Geronimo!" And we ran through the snow.
When we finally decided to sit down and take a break. It was only interrupted by a large robot. "Doctor, whats that?" I was scarred. "That's a Dalek!" When he said that it started moving around and chanted "Exterminate, Exterminate!" The Doctor grabbed my hand and whispered "RUN!" We ran all the way back to the TARDIS. I heard him for no apparent reason snap his fingers. Then all of sudden the door opened! We jumped in with just enough time to save our skin. But the doctor didn't waist a second he went over to the console deck and tapped buttons and pulled on levers. The TARDIS shook once again and we were moving. This ride was smoother than before. But I still grabbed onto his arm. And he didn't mind at all. He reached down and grabbed mine as well. No one complained and there wasn't an awkwardness this time either. We smiled at each and held on each other tightly. But softly.
