Chapter 1: first day

Hannah's POV
it's my first day of school since we moved to California because of my dads job offer. My cousin, Sally lives here and goes to the same school I will be attending so I will be able to hand out with her. I'm 17 years old, my mum (Natalie) and dad (George) lives with us, of course, and my brother, Nathan, is 19. You could say I'm a bit of a nerd but I am also really athletic and love to dance, I had a boyfriend back in Australia, which is where we lived before we moved to Cali. But I broke things off when me moved. It was for the best. So tomorrow is my first day of school and I'm pretty excited to see Sally again, she's like a best friend.

"Ughhhh," I groaned to my mum, "are you sure it's Monday?" I said whilst wiping my eyes.
"Yes sweet pea you have to shower and get ready. Your brother has a job interview at the school so you need to hurry so he can be on time." She replied in a calm voice.
I got up and waltzed to the shower, still half asleep.
I turned the shower nozzle on and Shaved my legs, washed my long blonde hair, and washed my face.
I hopped out and wrapped a towel around my body and my hair so it could dry. I looked through my draw and got out my makeup; mascara, concealer, nude lipstick. It's all I really needed, I'm not too big on the idea of a cake-face.

I turned on the radio and danced slightly to the music as I finished drying my hair, I ran a brush through it and let it fall in its natural beachy waves, I walked over to my closet and picked out a white with black lace loose crop top, some denim skinny jeans and some black converse, I got my blue backpack and stuffed it with books and ran downstairs.
My dad chucked me an apple and I grabbed a water off the bench and ran out to Nathan's car.
"Took ya long enough Han." My brother laughed.
"Sorry, forgot it was Monday." I giggled slightly. My brother and I are really close and he's super protective of me, in our old school he was the 'bad boy' and he put this guy in the hospital once cause he slapped my ass. That's also part of the reason my we thought we should move. Nathan is still in school for getting held back a year, but he's fine with it.

We arrived at the front of the school and looked up at the building, Nathan and I hopped out and walked to the front desk, getting glares from EVERYONE, and also a whistle here and there that was directed to me, sadly, I am not one who really liked attention from guys, I prefer sports and dancing. We ignored the stares and walked to the front office to sign in our names and get our schedules, I was in most of Sally's classes, which was awesome.
Nathan spoke up as we walked out of the office "room 2-12, I'm this way, I'll  see ya after school Han!"
We said our goodbyes and with that we left, everyone was starting to form into their assigned rooms when I got really confused. I couldn't find my class. "Room d-14, hrmmmm.." I said to myself. I started walking when I was tackled to the floor.
"HANNNNNNNAAAAH!!!" A perky voice screamed as they sat on top of me, I knew the voice instantly and screamed back "SALLLLLLY!!"
She hopped off and helped me up,
"Just a lil welcome to berkmore high," she giggled, I giggled back.
" haha thanks, hey do you know where-"
I was cut off,
"Room d-14," she smiled, "that's my class, right this way"
I smiled back in thanks as we walked to our class.
"Miss Sally Robbins, care to explain why you are late, yet again." The teacher said with a stern look as he tilted down his reading glasses and looked at Sally seriously.
"Yes sir!" She said with her usual happy tone, "this is Hannah Robbins, my cousin. She's new here and this is her first day, I was showing her to the class." A light clutter of gasps and whistles came from the students, they all stared at me as I stood in the doorway.
The teacher checked his role and responded, "ah, yes. Hannah Robbins. Welcome to berkmore high, it's quite rare we get a new student, so welcome," He said smiling, "well why don't you both take a seat and then you can tell the class a bit about yourself."
I walked towards two spare seats and sat with Sally by my side.
"Ok Hannah, if you could stand up and tell us a bit about you we will ALL be quite happy to listen before we start."
I gulped, I am not one for speaking.
"Oh u-uhm... Ok, well I-I moved here from Australia an-" I was cut off to a loud whistle coming from behind me
"Australia hey, let's see if you got any skills down under," he laughed.
I turned around to see an extremely hot guy smirking at me and I was at a loss for words.
"I uh-uhm-"
Cut off. As usual..
"Oi dude why you gotta be such a prick all the time, she's new," I heard a deep say from the back corner of the class room, I turned around to find an even more attractive guy glaring at the guy behind me.
"What are you gonna do about it Dolan," he scoffed
" well you're either gonna shut you're big ass mouth or I can shut it for you," he scoffed back, only more threateningly. Before I new it the guy behind me had stood up and through a punch at the other guy, but he swiftly dodged and gave him a hard punch right to the face, and the other guy fell to the ground. The whole class gasped and looked at me wide-eyed.
"Grayson, travis, after school detention for that." The teacher said sternly. Then the bell rang and I sighed in relief, I fast walked out before any thing else happened and I sped to my locker with Sally right next to me.
