Chasing Rainbows (Austin Carlile/ Alan Ashby fanfic)

“Okay let’s do this one more time” Aaron said as he picked up his guitar and we practiced the new melody one more time. We were recording in studio C today for our third album, I couldn’t have been more excited about it. I propped my guitar up on my leg and we tried one more time, only to be interrupted by Austin’s screaming in the studio next to us. I smiled to myself, he always worked so hard when it came to the music it was such an inspiration to me.

“Man, he’s amazing isn’t he?” Aaron sighed as he set the guitar down next to him, and rubbed his face with his hand. We had been working for at least 5 hours straight, barely ever stopping to take a break or anything at that matter. We were too excited about this new album that we just couldn’t stop, we were basically working machines. We may still be in pre-production but it was still so exciting, I have been doing this music gig my whole life, and now to be working with such great people and such amazing friends was beyond anything I could ever dream off.

“Yeah he is, man this is going to be the most rad shit ever! Kids aren’t even ready for this!” I smiled as I set my guitar down too, taking a small break with Aaron to listen to Austin’s screaming in the next studio. 

Austin and I have been friends for as long as I can remember, and he always put his all into his music. This was something he lived for; I don’t think there is anything in this world than Austin loves more than music. He is such an amazing guy, the way he puts his all into something that he really cares about; the fans love him to death for all his hard work.  He cared so much about the fans also it was insane, he wasn’t an asshole. Austin actually cares like he really does, the fans and the music meant the world to him I don’t think I have ever met someone in my entire life as dedicated to his work than him. Even after all he has been through he still had the inspiration and heart to keep on going; he never gave up once and it was such an amazing thing to me to be able to be by his side the whole time.

“Are you excited for tour coming up?” Aaron asked pulling me out of deep thought, I looked at him for a second before smiling and picking up my monster next to me.

“More than excited! It’s going to be awesome!”  We had tour coming up real soon with Bring Me The Horizon and Crossfaith. They are some pretty awesome guys, I couldn’t wait to tour with them and party again like the good ole times.

“Yeah me too man, I love touring it’s like home you know what I mean?” Aaron asked sitting back in his chair,

“Yeah, I know what you mean”

“Hey guys!” Austin chirped as he walked through the door with a big smile on his face, I couldn’t help but smile back he really had a great smile that just brightened the whole room it was impossible not to smile when he did. No matter whom you are, or how much shit you had been through when Austin Carlile smiles you just have to smile too.

“Oh, hey Austin!” Aaron said looking over his shoulder at our tall, tattooed front-man and best friend.

“So how about we call it a day and go out for a little bit, Sierra called and she wants to see all of us. She brought more fireworks for us to play with!” He jumped up like a giddy child on Christmas.  Sierra was a good friend of ours, we meet her during Warped Tour and then again when we toured with her band ‘Romeo’s Secret’, she’s only a side-member of the band, because she mostly merches; to be honest she’s just too scared to admit she’s in the band because of the drama it caused with her family, it’s really sad because she has a killer voice.  She became a great friend of ours pretty fast; she was basically the female Austin Carlile if you ask me.

“Awesome!” I jumped up out of my seat and cheered, Austin jumped in his spot before we followed him out of the studio room.

“Austin darling!” Sierra yelled as we knocked on her hotel room door, she was wearing her usual attire of an oversized sweater, her beanie hat, and of course ripped skinny jeans.
