Chapter 1

"Hi it's me again, Dawn," I begin while facing the camera. "For this week's song I've decided to cover 'Perfect' by P!nk. I Hope you guys like it," I summarize before starting the music.

'Made a wrong turn,
Once or twice.
Dug my way out,
Blood and fire.

Bad decisions,
That's alright.
Welcome to my,
Silly life.

Mistreated,
Misplaced, misunderstood.
Miss. No hey it's all good,
It didn't slow me down.

Mistaken,
Always second guessing.
Underestimating,
Look I'm still around.

Pretty pretty please,
Don't you ever ever feel.
Like you're less than,
Less than perfect.

Pretty pretty please,
If you ever ever feel.
Like you're nothing,
You are perfect.

To me.' I sing through the rest of the song and mix up the rap to the Cimorelli version.

'The whole world's scared so I swallowed the fear,
The only thing I should be drinking is a cold root-beer.'

I love Cimorelli, those are some talented girls. And they were discovered on YouTube, a lot of artist have actually. Jamie Grace, Greyson Chance, etc., and hopefully I'm next.

I finish singing and push a strand of hair out of my face then look to the camera again. Staring at the lens I begin to speak once more.

"Alright then, thanks for watching guys! Tune in next week for another video!" I wave enthusiastically before turning off the electrical devise. I sigh in happiness before jumping up from my seat and walking over to my computer with the camera in hand.

I plug in the cord that connects my camera to my computer and upload the file to my hard drive and YouTube. I always do this in case it gets deleted anywhere so I have a plan B and plan C. Plan A is that it doesn't get deleted at all, plan B is that it gets deleted on my YouTube and I have the file on my hard drive, plan C is that it gets deleted on both and I still have the recording on my camera. If it gets deleted in all three, which hasn't happened, then I guess plan D is either re-record or just screw it and leave it as is. Yep, that's how this silly process works.

It's a habit to view my videos on YouTube. My chocolate brown hair pops out against the blue walls of my bedroom, and the newly dyed blonde ends make it look that much better. My sky blue eyes are very bright on the screen while my freckles are barely noticeable. Thankfully height is hard to tell on video, I have the height of a 12-year-old and I'm 18! I'm a midget at 5'3" I'm a senior in high school too, most people in my grade are close to 6' or over! But you know, whatever...

The views and likes are already piling up. It's been five minutes and I'm already up to 347 views, 152 likes, and 8 dislikes, haters. You could say that I'm semi-famous in the YouTube world which surprises me as all I do is sing covers of songs to music, tho I'd love to go acapella. I have almost a million subscribers and hundreds of thousands to millions of views per video. I call my fans Sunshines, with my name being Dawn I saw it as appropriate and punny.

I scroll through the early comments, replying to some, when a familiar voice calls from downstairs.

"Dawn! Did you finish your homework?" My mother, Gwen, calls from the kitchen. I groan and shut down my computer after logging out of YouTube.

"Working on it!" I yell back, too lazy to walk down all those stairs just to come back up. I sigh while putting my headphones on and scroll through my playlists and end up selecting 'Advice' by Christina Grimmie, another sensation discovered on YouTube and went on to perform on The Voice. I plop down on my bed which is covered in my homework. Well sorta. My homework is studying for finals, yep after that it's graduation and freedom to summer vacation!
