New story?? Man, I told myself I'd never write two stories at once again. (btw, the title comes from the song Tous les Mêmes by stromae. I just translated it into English, roughly though lmao).

This chapter is pretty short because it's just an introduction. The other chapters will be longer, but not as long as some of the chapters in tdonl.

I don't know how often this will be updated, because I want to focus on tdonl (because that story is going to have way more chapters and I want to get it done soon). All I know about this story is that you're probably going to hate me.

Also, Kellin is non-binary, but it isn't mentioned as much. Me being non-binary, I wanted to make a story with a non-binary character that doesn't revolve around the fact that they're non-binary. You feel?

So I hope you enjoy this story and have fun!!

Kellin's POV

Tyler leans over my shoulder, getting a good look at my phone. I'm on my home, my domain, my haunt: Instagram. I've reached 9,101 followers, and I can't believe how. Every morning I wake up shocked and elated, unbelievably happy at how many people seem to like me and how many friends I've made.

Sometimes it's stressful. Almost too stressful. I have school work always popping around the corner and art projects to finish. And I also have a part time job at a local coffee shop, earning money for cosmetology school, art supplies and makeup products.

God how I love makeup.

I could do it all the time. All the girls at school ask me to do their eyebrows, and I have a few tutorials on YouTube already. My dream is to be a makeup artist for models, and potentially, movies. I'm sure I'll get there if I keep working towards my goal.

"What's going on in the instagram?" Tyler asks me, even though he can probably clearly read what is going on. Tyler is my best friend. He doesn't have any friends except me (and a boy named Josh who he's constantly messaging, though they only just met). Tyler is a bit... strange. If that's the proper way to put it. I like to refer to him as the complex, oddball character, the one in shows and movies every one learns to love. Because he's wonderful, I think. I don't know why some people don't think so.

"Tay keeps spamming me with comments, what a hoe." I say with a smile. I love Tay so much. She was the first person I ever spoke to on instagram, and we've remained friends since. We always skype and facetime whenever we can.

"Tell her I say hi and Josh probably wants to pet her cat." Tyler requests, and I type that in, letting her know. Tyler barely goes on instagram unless it's at odd times during the day or night, but everyone knows him. I suppose you could say they know him because of me, and he's okay with that.

I say, "I still have yet to meet Josh."

Tyler says, "He wants to meet you too."

"Where does he live?" I ask.

"Ohio." Tyler says, sadly. Tyler used to live in Ohio once upon a time, which means he could have been closer to his new friend had he not moved here in fourth grade. I suppose everything is a sequence of events, one event toppling the domino, so on. So maybe he would have never met Josh, The Guy I Haven't Met Yet.

"Hey, I mean, at least you're talking to him." I offer Tyler a reassuring smile. Tyler looks back and manages a smile of his own.

"You're right Kell. You are very much right." Tyler looks back down at the screen of his slightly outdated iPhone. His fingers fly as he texts Josh, and I can't help but smile a bit to myself. I'm so glad Tyler found another friend. He deserves one.

I put down my own cellular device and get off the bed. I have a room in the basement, meaning I have my own bathroom where I store some of my make up products. I have so many make up products, and my mom decided to move me to the basement so I could do my make up at 1:00 am if I wanted to. She knows that my goal in life is to be a make up artist and she understands that I need to practice new techniques whenever I can.

I go into the bathroom, deciding I might as well do something with my face. It's just my regular face right now. I clip back my hair (which I recently dyed dark green) and get to work on starting the steps towards my contour.

It doesn't take me that long to apply everything and blend it. What takes me longer is eye makeup. That takes a bit more concentration. I usually go to school with understated make up (though you can obviously tell I have it on), but at home I enjoy experimenting with looks.

Right in the middle of filling in my eyebrows, my mom calls Tyler and I for food. I groan out loud; couldn't she have picked a better time to call me? Tyler gets up and walks upstairs, knowing I'll probably be down here for another ten minutes. I just want to get the basic stuff down.

"I'll be there in a second Mom!" I yell back to her, and she yells an 'Okay!' back to me. As long as Tyler joins her for the first half of supper, she'll be happy.

My mom is an amazing mother. She's the type of person that will accept you into her home no matter who you are. She's so open minded and kind, sometimes I don't think she's real. I really got lucky with her as a mother. After all she's been through, it's hard to believe she's still going strong. But she is. I think that's amazing.

With a satisfied sigh, I complete my basic face and exit the bathroom, shutting off the light. I head upstairs, running into the kitchen. We have a one story house, the kind with a basement. It's just my mom and I, so it gets a bit expensive sometimes. I'm glad we have support from her sister as well time and time again though. I have a pretty good family, all of them with good hearts.

"Whoa mom, what did you make for dinner, that smells amazing!" I say, not realizing how hungry I am. I grab a bowl and shovel the food into it. It smells too good to be true. My mother is an exceptional cook.

"Oh nothing, just a pasta with a sauce." Mom says with a shrug as I join her and Tyler at the table.

"Nothing? Mom, you never make nothing. Oh my god." My mom shrugs again, but I can see she's smiling. I start eating the food and I can't even believe how good it is. My mom should have her own cooking channel.

Tyler nods, "It is really good Lisa."

Mom smiles widely at him. My mom really likes Tyler and I'm so glad she does. In elementary, most parents kept their kids away from Tyler. My mom welcomed him with open arms.

"Well thank you, both of you." She smiles again, and then adds, "So Kellin dear, what are you planning on doing with make up tonight?"

With a grin, I begin explaining the look I'm going to try out to my mother as we all eat supper.
