I didn't sleep at all last night. I stayed up on Instagram and tumblr the whole time. I even did homework!
I think it's safe to say that I'm freaked out. Very freaked out. I thought I could brush this off and wait for it to die down, but it doesn't look like it will. Tenvin even sent me a message on instagram.
tenvin_c: I see you did not sleep last night. How unfortunate.
I didn't reply. I couldn't bring myself to.
So right now, I'm sitting at the kitchen table, my head almost falling into my bowl of cereal. I'm so tired. Mom isn't home, she's working today since she missed two days of work (for a reason she still won't tell me). The house is unbearably quiet.
I'm going to call in sick. I can't go to work like this. I'm also paranoid. Tenvin C knows where I work and they know who Maggie is and they've seen Trenton. Which means they've been around on a Friday. I don't want to go to work this morning knowing that Tenvin C can possibly be sitting at a table with a coffee, watching me without me noticing.
After I call the coffee shop, I put my bowl of cereal away and flop on the couch in the living room. I just want to avoid everything today. I'm too tired to function, but if I sit here, the more freaked out I'm going to get.
I grab my phone and I decide to text Tyler. I hope he wants to hang out today because I don't feel like I can be alone. I also need his help.
Tyler agrees to come over though. He doesn't live too far at all, so he'll be here shortly. I sigh in relief. Thank god he's coming over, I'm too scared to be alone in my home.
And yes, I'm admitting it. I'm scared. Tenvin C has effectively scared me.
I should probably answer Tenvin on Instagram, but I don't want to. I don't know what they'll say and what they'll do. I just want them to stay as far away from me as possible. So far that not even a gigantic suspension bridge can connect them to me. I want them out of the country with no possible way to contact me. I just want to feel safe.
Eventually, the door opens. I jump a little, my heart racing, but it's just Tyler letting himself in. I relax, taking a deep breath, trying to steady my heart beat before my heart explodes out of my chest and runs away screaming.
Tyler walks up the stairs that are by the door into the living room. He says, "Hi Kellin."
"Hi Tyler." I respond.
"You look miserable." Tyler points out as he sits down in the love seat, crossing his legs.
"Tyler, you have no idea. I didn't sleep last night and do you want to know why?"
"Why?"
"I've been getting creepy letters from this person named Tenvin C for like a week. And, they found my Instagram too," I tell him, "I don't know what the hell is going on, but it's not good. They're watching me and I don't know what to do."
Tyler is silent for a moment, pondering this new information. I wonder how he'll react to this. Something like this will easily freak him out too.
"Call the police," Tyler finally suggests.
"That's the thing, I don't know if I can," I huff, "I threatened to block them on Instagram and go on private, but they told me there would be consequences. And I have no idea what kind of consequences they're talking about."
"Can you show me the letters and messages?" Tyler asks.
"Well yeah, I can. Are you sure this isn't like, too much for you though?" I ask quickly, concerned. I don't want to scare Tyler.
Tyler shakes his head, "I'm fine. Don't worry about me okay?"
I sigh and slowly nod, "Okay. I'll show you the letters first. Come on."
I get up off the couch and walk down the stairs all the way to the basement, making sure Tyler is following me. He's wearing his red beanie today.
I make it to my room and search around on my desk for the letters. I find them no problem; I tend to have a very organized desk.
I hand them to Tyler, "Here. Read them and then tell me what you think."
Tyler takes the letters from me and sits on my bed. He opens the first one and begins reading. I sit on the floor, playing with the sleeve of my sweater. I'm still in my pajamas.
I wait for Tyler to finish reading both letters, and when he's done, he puts the letters down on my bed and frowns.
"So..?" I ask.
"So I think this is creepy." Tyler says.
"Exactly!"
"Who would send something like this?" Tyler asks.
I shake my head, "That's what I'm wondering. I don't know any Tenvin Cs."
"Tenvin C is probably a fake name or something."
"Probably." I sigh.
Tyler asks, "Do you think it has anything to do with your dad? Like do you think it's one of his buddies?"
"I don't know," I say, "It's possible. But I would have noticed some burly and shady guy watching me right? I know what guys like my dad look like and I haven't seen one around me lately."
"Then it's not one of your dad's buddies messing with you."
"I guess not," I say. I go into my phone and open Instagram, opening the DMs from Tenvin C to show Tyler. "Here, look at the messages." I hand him my phone and he takes it from me, scrolling through the messages.
"I don't like this person, whoever they are," Tyler says as he hands my phone back to me.
"Neither do I," I groan, "What am I gonna do Ty?"
Tyler shrugs, thinking. He takes off his hat to scratch at his hair and then he puts the hat back on again. Tyler always tells me that isn't actually his hat. He told me that a voice in his head urged him to buy it. His therapist said it was only himself telling him. Tyler doesn't believe it.
"We'll figure this out," Tyler finally says, "I'll help you. We'll find out who this person is so we can finally get them out of your hair."
"Hopefully," I say.
