I glanced at myself in the mirror and tried to fix my dark brown, shoulder length hair. The curls never obeyed me and my hair was always a mess. I gave up and added a little touch of makeup, i didn't want to look like I haven't slept in a week, but I didn't want that feeling of a mask in your face that's gonna melt if you get too hot either. Of course it was January so I didn't have to worry about that, but you never know where the night gets you. I picked up a pair of my favorite blue bell bottoms. They were quite worn out but they were my favorite ones and nobody's gonna stare at my feet anyway. Then I put on a white peasant blouse with pretty red flowers on the front. I heard the noise of the record player needle rasping on the vinyI, so I got up from the bed and flipped it and waited until I could hear the sexy riff of Heartbreaker. I couldn't believe that I was going to see them play in couple hours. I got even more nervous when I thought about it and I was already a total wreck. This had been my dream since I got their debut album from my dad about a year ago. And today was my birthday too, I'm turning 16. I'm going to the concert with Nick, my best friend. It was my birthday present from him. The best gift ever. I almost started crying when he showed me the tickets. Nick was just great in general. He had been like a big brother to me since I was 6 and he was 8. And he got me into The Beatles which is my favorite band with Zeppelin. He has long curly ginger hair and a beard, emerald green eyes and he's really tall. I'm  5'7 and he's 6'3. We look a little funny together. I took some money from my desks drawer and put it in my pocket. I didn't like to carry a purse, I  was so absent-minded and I always left it to places. So my pockets would do. I sprayed some perfume and tried to fix my hair again but then I just walked to my bed and collapsed to it. There was still 20 minutes until we would meet outside. He lived next door so I could hear him playing guitar, sometimes even at night when his folks weren't home. I didn't mind it though, he was really good and I usually stayed up late even if it was a school morning. He had tried to taught me how to play but I wasn't that good.  The last song of the vinyl started and I enjoyed every second of it getting more and more excited and nervous. I looked at my clock, it was 10 to six, which meant I had 10 minutes to put my shoes and jacket on and try to convince my mom that I was going to be alright and not get killed, raped or robbed. And that I wasn't going to get drunk or high or whatever. She's always so worried about me and doesn't trust me at all for some reason. My dad wasn't like that at all, he's really relaxed and doesn't care that much about what I do. I mean yes he cares a lot about me but he lets me be a teenager in year 1970. I took my black suede jacket and put it on. I took a final peek on the mirror and smiled. And then I smiled at my Led Zeppelin poster and left my small room. I walked downstairs and saw my mom watching TV and drinking some alcoholic beverage I assume. My dad was still at work and my little brother was probably trying to get tickets to the concert. The concert was sold out of course and he was a big fan too so I felt bad for him. But he should've bought the tickets way before. I quietly said "hi" to my mom and she just said "bye bye" and didn't even look at me. Well that's unusual. Usually she would ask me like hundred questions but not this time. Well that's just good for me. I walked away to the hallway and put my red platforms on and quickly searched for my mom's jacket. Then I put my hand on her pocket and took a cigarette out of the box. I don't usually smoke but I was so nervous and it helped me. I felt the cold winter air when I left from our small flat and looked for Nick. He was sitting on his porch's stairs smiling at me.

"Hi Charlotte", he said and got up and started walking to me.

"Hey", I said in a nervous tone.

"Happy birthday!! You look gorgeous!"

"Thanks man", I blushed.

"Are you excited?", he said while hugging me warmly.

"No, not at all."
