Chapter One

I walked out of the house with my heavy, warm jacket on. A light snow fell gently from above.  My best friend Samantha's birthday was the next day and I wanted to surprise her.  As I walked down the street to the bakery on the corner which was only about a mile walk, I thought about what kind of cake I wanted.

I opened the door to the bakery and walked in, I was lost in my thoughts and a voice behind the counter interrupted them with, "May I help you?"

As I looked up I saw a gorgeous boy with a sexy smirk on his face and these gorgeous green eyes that looked right into mine like a dream. He was so hot I couldn't get myself to speak. My jaw dropped at the sight of him. I was not expecting someone this hot to be behind a bakery counter.

"Uh... hi yes, Can I get a marble cake please?"

"We have one in blue and orange is that okay love?"

OH MY GOD I almost fell over when he called me love.

"Yeah that's fine." I managed to say weakly.

He looked back at me and smiled with long brown locks framing his face and his gorgeous green eyes stared back at mine as he was writing Happy Birthday on top of the cake.

I smiled back at him and dropped my head and started playing with my hair. I didn't want to seem like a dork staring at him. He was so hot I was frozen and literally could not move.

"So do you live around here?" he asked.

"Yeah actually I live  just about a mile down the road. What about you?" I asked shyly.

"I live about a mile down the road too. I never forget a face, I don't think I've ever seen you before."

"Yeah" I smiled and blushed.

So many thoughts were running through my head. I couldn't believe that he was actually talking to a girl like me. I was kind of short, my hair was long, blonde and had a few faded blue highlights from when I thought they were cool. I had light gray eyes, hardly any boobs and I knew I looked horrible.

I was both flattered and shocked. I wondered if he had a girlfriend.  Someone like me would never go out with someone like him.

He was way too attractive for me. He walked over to me with that bright, gorgeous grin of his and handed me the cake saying, "Here you go, love"

His British accent was too much to handle. I died a little more inside every time I heard it.

"Thank you so much" I said.

"That will be $10.50 please."

I handed him the money and as I did his hand brushed mine and we both looked at each other blushing and I let out a small giggle. His laugh was adorable.

"Will I be seeing you again?" he asked flashing me a grin.

"If anyone in my family has a birthday." I said cheekily.

"Can't wait."

"Bye!" I called as I walked out of the door with butterflies in my stomach.

"Bye love." he said.

"Wait!" he called out.

"Yeah?" I questioned thinking I had forgotten something on the counter.

"I didn't catch your name!" he exclaimed.

"It's Scarlett Mendoza!" I said loudly enough for him to hear.

"Harry Styles!" he replied.

Harry Styles, what a nice name. It fit him perfectly.

When I got out the door I allowed myself a little spin of excitement and I smiled to myself.

All I could think about was him, I needed to see him again and I stood there memorizing what he looked like so I could tell Samantha and not miss a single detail.

I kept repeating his name in my head. Harry Styles, Harry Styles, Harry Styles.
