The limo arrived on time. Freakishly on time. As soon as the clock said 10:30 (AM), he was there at my door. I recognized one of the king's sons as soon as I opened the door. Cameron was pretty cute, with his light brown hair and grey eyes, and I wondered for a moment if it was Cameron whom I was engaged to.
"Hi, Cameron." I said, trying to keep the anger out of my voice. No matter how cute the boy at my door, I was still pissed about this. Cameron smiled his signature smile, the dreamy one that made all the girls, vampire or not, fight the urge to faint. "Hello, Katrina. I suspect your parents have explained to you my reason of being here?" He asked. I nodded, trying to make my smile not look forced. "Excellent. You're ready to leave, then?" I nodded again, wanting just to leave my home. "Yeah, I'm ready." I flinched at my wording; Cameron sounded so formal, and I sounded so... not. Cameron nodded, and suddenly he looked serious. "Katrina, don't be upset with your parents. They had no choice, really; my brother was determind that this marriage happened." I paused, knowing he was right but wishing he wasn't. I guess I was blaming my fiance then. I suddenly caught on to something Cameron had said. "So, I'm engaged to Luke then?" I asked. Cameron nodded. "Come on, then. He's waiting in the limo." I smiled faintly, feeling tired all of a sudden. I guess crying, packing things and being angry really takes a lot out of you. Cameron opened the door for me and I slid in to find a smiling boy I had never seen beside me.
Cameron was always around town, with friends or without. He was a vey social boy, and he was always out and about. Everyone knew the name of the king's sons, of course, but people rarely ever saw Cameron, and I have to say I actually never saw Luke. He had dirty blonde hair and beautiful ochre eyes. His smile was enough to make me stop breathing for a second while I looked at him, but I quickly regained control. Cameron closed our door and sat up front with the driver.
"...hi." I said stupidly. Luke just kept smiling. "Hello." He replied. "Your name's Katrina, right? I'm just making sure. My name's Luke, just to make you sure." I smiled back and nodded. "Yeah... Katrina." He smiled, slowly moving his hand towards mine. I let him take it and he seemed really happy, squeezing my hand slightly. "Do you mind if I call you Kat for short?" I shrugged. "Sure. My mo-...sister calls me Trina, so whichever one you want." Luke nodded, and I yawned. Mom had woken me up earlier than I'm used to... that's another reason I could be tired. Luke smiled gently at me, and put a hand out towards my head. At first I thought he was actually going to kiss me, but instead he pulled my head onto his shoulder. I smiled, greatful. I didn't need to be nautious over a kiss, too. I was glad that Luke was going to let me sleep. Snuggling myself comfortably into his shoulder, he paused and said, "Wait..." I lookedup at him and he put his arm around me, pulling me closer. "Okay, you can sleep now." He said, grinning. I laughed a little, and shifted until I felt I was comfortable enough to sleep. I looked up and...

Luke kissed me gently on the lips.
"We've got an hour until we get home - well, your new home, so I suggest you sleep now if you're tired, since my father isn't going to let you sleep all today. I'll let you sleep all of tommorow if you want, though, okay?" I nodded sleepily, and sort of in shock. He laughed lightly.
I closed my eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep as Luke gently rubbed my shoulder, calming me down.
Maybe this engagement won't be so bad after all...?
