(( FYI: Jacksons POV ))

The jeep pulled into the driveway and Stiles looked up at the massive house before him. He had seen the place before, even went to a party there with his best friend Scott, but it still somehow blew him away.
"Thanks for the ride" I say, making him turn to me and shut his gaping jaw.
I raise an eyebrow at him, after an awkward minute of no reply.
"Oh right, no problem man" he replies and I chuckle a little. God this boy is awkward...
I hop out the car and walk around the back, getting my gear out. I've almost got it all when Stiles jogs around and grabs a bag for me.
"You don't have to help me y'know...I can carry it myself" I say, nonchalantly and he just gives me a lop-sided smile.
"Just let me help Jackson" he replies and I sigh, trying not to seem actually grateful despite being so.
I walk up to the door, bag in one hand and key in the other. I fiddle around and eventually manage to unlock the door and walk inside.
I dump my bag just out of the doorway and look back to see Stiles stood at the door still.
"What are you doing? You can come in dumbass" I say and smirk as he awkwardly makes his way inside.
"Just dump the stuff there" I tell him, pointing in the general direction of where I put my other bag.
"Aren't your parents home?" He questions, setting the bag down before turning back to face me.
"No" I reply with a shrug, walking into the kitchen and filling a glass with water.
"Wait so you're home alone? This late at night?" He continues, poor boy actually looks surprised about it.
"Yeah usually am, why do you care so much?" I retort, downing half the glass.
He looks taken aback by my harshness and I feel a pang of regret flood me. It's just a defensive thing, I don't really intend to be mean. No one has ever actually taken the time to understand that except for my best friend Danny.

"You might be the biggest douche at school, but no one deserves to be alone all the time Jackson." He pipes up, giving me a genuine look of concern.
Does...does he actually care?
I open my mouth to speak but my words run dry, leaving me stood there in silence. I've been nothing but mean to him, why would he care?

"Well...my dad is probably getting worried about me by now so I've gotta go. But you're welcome to come spend the night if you like, just so you're not alone in a big house for a change" he says, shaking me out of thought.
I look down for a moment then back up at him. He smiles at me and actually looks hopeful.
I guess it would be nice to not be alone for a change...
I give him a small smile and nod, watching his eyes light up. He does care..so..why not give him a chance?
What's the worst that could happen?
