Zee's POV
It was Saturday night, nothing much I ever did. I'll probably finish some homework. And for some reason my mom was going out tonight, again. Ever since she's figured out what the "internet" is, she's been signing her self up for all these single and mingle websites. *slaps forehead*I mean, I know dad left us a few years back for a reason I still have yet to find but I don't know if I'm ready for a new "person" in our life's.
"So, how do I look?" My mom grinning for the first time in forever while she try's to walk down the steps like some type of rich person. All I could do was drop my jaw because my mom never looks this nice.
"Nope, nope, nope." I say pushing her ass right back up the stairs. I couldn't help but laugh along the way. Me and my mom had a special type of bond, maybe because it was only us.
"What?" She asked with concern, still not wiping off her grin.
"Where do you think your going with this makeup on, high heels, hair done and long dress?" I asked. I mean why couldn't she wear Nikes with a sweater and shorts like me?
"I'm going on a date with this man......his name is Brian."An that's the word I hated to hear, it made my ears want to bleed, date. Entering her room I throw myself on her bed all stretched out. I asked her why she had to go on a date, again? She gave me the same reasoning every time but I figured I'd question anyways, why not.
"Zee, we need to find a man for this household, I can't keep pulling three different jobs just to barley make it here." That's when I cut her off.
" I know, I know. I understand." Even though deep down I didn't want to understand, I wanted to scream a whole bunch of naughty words into a pillow! I might as well just get over the fact, but I can't.
"Zee, there's dinner in the stove. I'll be back by midnight." Following her down the stairs I agreed, gave her a kiss at the door and said have fun.
"Great, what are we going to do tonight No-name?" Maybe watch another episode of Vampires or Werewolves. Oh and No-name is my dog. Don't ask I was two and picked that as her name, I only kept it because my dad said it was different. Pretty ridiculous right? But she was my bestfriend, since I didn't have any.....
Long story short, this really "popular" girl Taylor ruined my reputation way back by telling everyone I was a "lesbian", which I wasn't. An gosh people at Jaguar Highschool were real critics. Their all like homo-phobic or something. Even though I've never had a girlfriend or boyfriend. I've always thought I've liked guys but I don't know. I mean, I've never checked out a girl. But it's whatever, it gives me time to focus on school and basketball.
Now that I think about it........I think Taylor's dads name is.........Brian.
Taylor's POV
"Ugh, Jessica you need to come over tonight. My dads going on a date with some lady." I said with a bit of disgust.
"Another one?" Isn't this his fourth time this week?" She asked.
"Yeah, I wonder if he even takes them out. Probably just uses them for sex."
"Well Tay Tay, I'll be over."Hanging up the phone all I could do was sit on my master bed in my master bedroom with a master bathroom and think. Why is my dad trying so hard to find a "girl". I mean I'm fine without a mom. Well maybe....not but all well. I don't need some stupid lady to help me pick out clothes, talk about my boy problems and get to laugh with her and make a lifetime of memories.
I missed my mom. She died a few years back from cancer, I was only 12. I never told anyone that she died though. I didn't like to speak about it.
Before my dad left for his date I decided to make an appearance. So I went down stairs an saw him trying to fix his suit in the kitchen.
"Hey Tay, I'm going out tonight with a lady named Mary, I'll be back by midnight."
"Okay." It's all I could say. I mean what else was I supposed to say. Why?"Here, there's some money. Have Jessica come over and keep an eye on your brother." Ugh I forgot about the little twerp. Justin, he's my little brother. He's a freshman this year and he wasn't the jockey type.
Just before my dad exited the door I said "wait" and fixed his tie. It was a bit crooked. "There now it's straight." Giving me a kiss on the forehead he tells me goodnight.
Watching him pull away was fairly hard. I wish we could have another one of those father daughter days. Then again he's always working with his business or coaching the football team for my school.
Walking up stairs I wait for Jessica to show up so in the meantime I oddly wanted to go through some old photo albums of my moms. Flipping through pages and pages it was us. As a family. It made me, happy. Then I flipped to the page. It was me and this girl. She used to be my best friend. But crap happened between us.
I hate her.
*Knock, knock, knock*Ugh Jessica's here already, so quickly I shove the albums under my bed trying to make my way down stairs.
"Tay Tay!"
"Hey Jess." I didn't sound so convincing.Walking up the stairs I stop in hesitation. "Tay?" Jessica asks with concern. At that moment I realized my dad was going out with a women and this women's named just happened to be my worst enemy's mothers name. And her name was Zee.....
