Owen's calloused hands pull on the brakes, the motorcycle halting slowly as he stares at the eerily silent cement paddock. He gets off his bike, kicking the stand and looks around. It was exactly like it was left when they fed you. By now, he would have at least here some sounds of sort, but everything was still.
He walked over to the metal grated staircase, taking each step with caution. Once Owen reaches the door to the side view of the paddock, he waves the electronic card in front of the scanner that Claire gave him before he went off. As he pushes the door open, the low temperature causing goosebumps to rise up on the skin of his muscular arms.
He looks at the six screens that monitor your paddock at the side of the room, where the security guard used to be. Owen takes a few steps towards the glass, noting that the paddock was still. He glares at his reflection in the glass, then wonders his eyes amongst the tall looming trees.
Owen turns to look at the screens and he notices a small in the mud, the outline of your huge body still there. He sighs, pinches the bridge of his nose and folds his arms. He felt lonely, and as if he was the only one there. He didn't feel the presence of a twenty feet tall (I don't know what's the actually height) dinosaur in its paddock.
You wavered at each turn, getting more confused by the minute. Your eyes were slowly turning to a crimson red, sudden and random anger starting fill your head. A whine escaped your mouth, your neck arched to the right and your back straightened, your height reaching its highest peak. Lush greenery surrounded you, every corner either covered in ferns or leaves.
Owen left the observation room, heading towards the small door that he had entered just yesterday to check if you were in your paddock. As he slid the card across the reader, his eyes squints and he cringes, expecting you to pop out of nowhere and snap him up into your jaws.
Owen shuts his eyes, thinking of the worst, but nothing came except for a gust of wind and the sound of the door opening. His figure was stiff and tense, his hands going to his sides. After a few silent moments, nothing happened.
But he slowly opens his eyes, his face contortions into a look of confusion. It was eerily silent, even more silent than he was before in the observation room.
Silence greeted him as he took a few steps, but not before taking a few breaths to calm his nerves. "Hello? (Y/n)?"
He felt stupid to call out to you but at th same time, it felt natural for saying your name. Another step and the sound of a twig snapping catches his attention, his heart suddenly picking up speed.
His head turns to the direction of the sound, fear suddenly gripping his thumping heart.
He gulped, eyes wide with anxiety, breathing with shallow and quick breaths. But nothing came. Everything just kept silent.
Owen became confused. He snaps out of his trance, slowly approaching the line of trees, noting that nothing had moved except for the trees and ferns by the gentle breeze. As Owen dumbly and curiously explored the empty paddock, you became more agitated and scared, thinking that you've lost your way.
Each footstep was accompanied with a blink of a pair of glowing red eyes and a wave of vibration throughout the land around you, shaking the unfamiliar trees vigorously.
A puff of air escapes your nose, your arms curling around you more closely, as if it was protecting you. Your pale snowy tail swishing behind you, grazing a tree every now and then. A mix of a whine and a growl reverberated in your throat, your neck arching to the left to brush against a palm tree's leaf.
Your fists slightly clenched, just until your claws touch your own arms. Golden eyes stared at the ground, now noticing the car tracks on the ground.
Deciding it was best to follow, you headed into the direction of the trail, not knowing it was going to the direction of the T-Rex's paddock.
Owen walks around, finally coming to the conclusion that you were definitely not here. A heavy sigh escapes his pink chapped lips, walking to the opposite wall and glancing to the claw marks you had left. H shakes his head, hoping to get rid of the screams of the construction worker out of his head. His footsteps, his breathing and the rustling of trees were the only sounds he could hear.
It was basically pindrop silence.
A crackle from an electronic device caught his attention, his sense of hearing directing him to the sound of the electricity cracking. He walks over to the small door beside the huge Dino sized one.
A gasp leaves his lips as he saunters over to the open door, footprints in the ground that led to the forest and the card reader destroyed.
'eh? What the hell? Where is (Y/n)? Why is the door open? Unless of course, (Y/n) turned into a tiny dinosaur' he rolls his eyes at his childish thoughts.
Puzzled, he walks out of the paddock-seeing his motorcycle where he had left it - the truck that was turned over before you ate the fat security guard. He cringed at the remembrance of seeing the man die before his eyes. He walks around, now really finding anything important.
Until he sees a muddy handprint was on the glass of the car(that he hid under when you escaped), the muddy footprints just beside the car heading towards the lush green forest. He hums but inspects the handprint, placing his own hand beside it to compare the size. It's was relatively smaller than his. A hand that could either be by a child or a woman.
He huffs through his nose, rolls his eyes and spins on his heel, and started walking into the direction of where he had parked his motorcycle. Climbing on, he starts it up and trails after the footprints.
A/n: I know I took a long use to update cause I haven't been feeling it lately. But I swear I'm gonna continue this. I don't plan on ending this soon. I promise. Pinky swear. This story is not dead yet. Probably this would be the first Story that I would actually finish.
