"What do you want?" I asked, annoyed by Cass, my little sister. "Come on Ic! I asked you yesterday to drive me to my friends party!" Cass complained. "Yeah, but I never said I'd take you." I didn't even look at her. She sighed "well it's not like you have anywhere to go." She tried one more time, literally begging me. "Whatever, I'll go ask mom." She walked off as I rolled my eyes. I went back to reading my book, not wanting any part of Cass's drama. I could hear her in the other room, "moooom! Icarus won't take me to Jamie's party!" I rolled my eyes and continued reading. "Well it's not like she has anything better to do, she never does anything." Was my moms reply. I buried my face deeper in my book.
They were both right, I'm a nobody. My two best friends are Shakespeare and Poe, and the most fun I've ever had was when I got a hundred dollar Barnes and Noble gift card. I've never been to a party, Never had a sleepover, I haven't even had my first kiss yet. Cass, on the other hand, is always out with friends, or on the phone. I don't think she's ever even read a book past first grade. Even though she was two years younger than me, everyone thought she was older. Her makeup made her look a year older than me, and she always wore push-up bras so she wasn't so flat.
Nevertheless, she was still my younger sister, and couldn't drive yet. That was the most action my day saw;driving Cass around to all of her parties and "social gatherings." I shuddered at the thought of the word. I never thought that would change, but boy was I wrong.
