Hard as he tried, Jongin couldn't get any work done in his office. He hit his head on his desk for the 5000th time before giving up at noon and decided to go out. He left the remaining files that were on his desk to his secretary before making his way to the elevator. He hit the ground button and once he got there, the valet drove his car to the front of his office. He tipped the valet, giving him a warm smile before getting into his car and speeding off towards home. However, the more he drove, he couldn't concentrate on the road at all. As he drove in circles around the city, he thought about him. It's been years since he last saw him, and he wondered what he looked like now. The image he had of him on his head was probably outdated, but it was the last memory he had of him, the very last one before he got whisked away to an unknown place. Jongin sighed and parked at a nearby gas station. Putting both his hands on the steering wheel, he leaned his head to rest on them. The incident at the club was still fresh in his mind, and the image of that young stripper, Sehun, danced behind his closed eyelids. It reminded Jongin so much of him. They were the almost the same age, both in a place that it looked that they didn't belong. The sun sank low in the horizon as these thoughts ran through Jongin's mind. He was so concentrated in them that he almost didn't notice the headlights of an incoming car. Almost. But the light glared against the review mirrors and he looked up just in time to see the car pull up to a gas pump. Two men got out of the car, one going straight for the pump while the other one went into the gas station store. Jongin was about to pass it off as nothing until he saw movement in the backseat of the car. He could barely make out the shape of a body through the window, when the lights of the gas station started to flicker on as the sun set completely. His eyes widened when he realized it was a little girl in the seat, her tear stained face facing the window as she tried to pry the door of the car. His eyes flickered to the man at the pump, who was smoking while waiting for the car to fill up, and a question formed in his head. Judging by her actions and by the way the man looked, he doubted that his man was her father or her older brother. In fact, the man looked quite suspicious. Why was he wearing a long winter trench coat in the middle of spring? His eyes moved back to the girl, who had turned his way too. She caught his eyes and for a moment Jongin couldn't breathe. Those eyes....he was sure he had seen them before. Dark brown and full of fear, he swore he had seen that expression in the same eyes on someone else.
She motioned to him, her hand shaking as she pointed to the man at the pump, who had his back towards the car. She fogged the window with her breath before writing one single word: 'Help'. It was all it took to have Jongin get out of the car, closing the door behind him as quietly as he could. He stealthily made his way from where his car was to the gas pump, acting nonchalant. He stopped near the door where the girl was before crouching down. The man at the pump put the pump back and took his wallet out, ready to pay for the gas. The girl's eyes widened, fear even more evident across her face. Jongin breathed in nervously. It was now or never. As quietly, he opened the car door and let the girl out, closing just as quietly behind him. He motioned to her to keep silent as they started to creep away from the car.
A shout broke the silence.
"Hey you!!"
Jongin whirled around just in time to the see the other accomplice stepping out of the store. Hastily, he grabbed the girl's hand as she cried out in fear, running to his car while dragging her along. The man at the pump turned around, startled by his partners shout. He saw Jongin dragging the girl away from their car and he dropped his cigarette, running towards them.
"Run towards that car and get in!" Jongin pointed towards his car before pushing her ahead of him. She ran, and Jongin whirled around to face their chaser. He punched the unsuspecting man hard, and the other fell back in surprise. His partner closed in on Jongin as well, but a kick to the gut and a punch to the nose did the trick of slowing them both down. He ran to the driver's side, got in and speed away from the gas station as fast as he could.

Heavily breathing, Jongin's grip on the steering wheel did not loosen until they were a good four miles away from that gas station and deep into the city's center. He breathed heavily before turning to look at the girl in his passenger seat. She was curled up against the window her eyes wide as they passed neon light after neon light. Once Jongin stopped at the stop sign, he spoke to her.
"Are you okay?"
She turned to him, weakly nodding her head.
"Thank you," she murmured quietly as her grip on the seat belt tightened.
Jongin flashed her a reassuring smile as he drove again when the light turned green. After a few minutes of silence he spoke again.
"What's your name? How did you end up in the back of their car? They didn't seem like they were your family...." he trailed off. A couple moments of silence enveloped them before she spoke up.
"My name is Oh Daehye. I was at Lotte World with my oppa before I....I went to get ice cream. And those men took me and drugged me . I blacked out. The next thing I knew when I regained consciousness, I was in the back of a car speeding away from Lotte World." Her shoulder shook as she let out a quiet sob. Jongin put a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry," he murmured quietly as memories started to resurface.
"Can we please go get ice please we're really hungry and want dessert please please please pleaseeeee?"
"Let me go! Let him go!"
Jongin shook his head to clear his head from those thoughts.
"We should get you to a nearby police station.....your brother must be worried to death," he murmured. As he started to make the turn to get to the nearest police station, she clung onto his arm.
"No! No, please just....take me home. Please," she pleaded with him with eyes that were still full of tears.
Jongin eyed her questioningly but said nothing. Seeing this, the girl quickly gave him her address, which was not that far away from where they were, but it made Jongin raise his eyebrow. Itaewon? That was a clubbing district- a stripper club district. Why was she living in such place. She was just a girl- she could barely pass for 12 years old. Fear once again seized Jongin's heart as he got nearer to the address he had been told. Just 5 minutes ago he had passed the Wushiao club where he had been not too long ago. The girl quietly told her they had arrived when he pulled up to an old building. It wasn't completely run down, but the outside of the place was quite worn down and unpainted. Still feeling insecure about this whole issue, Jongin insisted to accompany her to the door of her apartment. As they walked across the lobby of the apartment building, his uneasiness didn't let down as he saw the guards at the door and what type of people lived in that building: girls with short skirts and makeup walked down the stairs, the air clung heavy with the smell of perfume and cigarette smoke. As they made their way up the stairs to the 5th floor of the building, he started to put the pieces together. This wasn't a typical apartment building- he could see that. Once they arrived at the door of the girl's apartment, she knocked three times. Jongin shifted his weight from one foot to another. He expected one of the women whom he had seen downstairs open the door and drag the poor girl in, or maybe a man who also smelled of cigarette smoke open the door and do god who knows what to her behind closed doors. But what he didn't expect however, was a lean a young man to open the door. Jongin froze for a minute.
"Daehye!"
"Oppa!!"
The man hugged her close and sobbed into her hair, just as she wrapped her arms around his neck. When the other man finally realized there was someone else at the door, he looked up. It was his turn to freeze. Dark brown eyes that were red with crying looked up at Jongin, and that's when Jongin realized why Daehye's eyes had looked so familiar. They were identical to his, to the man he had spent that night with at the club. They were identical to Sehun's.
a/n: sorry I hadn't updated this story in awhile. Dealing with school, stress and depression is really hard, especially when you have to deal with them all at the same time. I just got some inspiration to write this chapter. I hope you guys don't hate me too much for taking forever.....
also the italicized parts are memories. Hope you enjoyed ~
