Asuna's eyes fluttered open. She looked about the room until her eyes focused on the ceiling above her. Her hand touched something in the bed beside her and she looked over to see that she had made a mess of the covers and that her pillows were all over the side of the bed. Her hand was touching one of the pillows.
As Asuna thought back to the dream she'd had that night, which was the most likely cause of the bed's state, she blushed. She turned over, hiding her face in the pillows, embarrassed. The dream had consisted of a lot of things that she would rather stayed secret.
Asuna turned back over and looked at the clock. It was 7:00. She looked at the date. It was the seventh of April. The sudden realization of the date hit her like lightening. She was getting married today.
Asuna stood up on the bed and jumped up in the air with excitement. She jumped onto the floor, then ran over to the closet where her wedding dress was hanging on the door. She was expecting all the girls over to help her get ready.
Just as she took the dress down and laid it out on the bed, the doorbell rang. Asuna looked up and then half ran to the door. She flung it open to see Sugu, Silica, Liz, and Sinon all standing on the doorstep. They all squealed with delight when they saw her.
"I can't believe you're getting married today!!!", Sugu said.
"I can't either. It's like a dream come true. I feel like I'm still dreaming! Somebody pinch me!", Asuna said.
Liz reached over and pinched her shoulder hard. Asuna let out a yelp of pain, then laughed.
"Well, you did ask for it.", Liz said.
"You guys come on in. My bedroom is down the hall at the very end, on the right.", Asuna said.
They all walked in carrying makeup bags, kits, dress bags, and wrapped gifts. There was going to be quite a lot of fun in the next few hours. The wedding wasn't until night, but they needed that long to get ready, anyway.
Asuna shut the door and followed them all into the apartment. She was thanking her lucky stars that the people living below her were on vacation for spring break. They didn't have to worry about being too loud.
The girls all set their things down in the living room. Then, they each picked up a gift, or two, and piled them onto the coffee table.
"Why don't you open these now, that way you don't have to later in front of Kazuto?", Liz suggested.
Asuna couldn't think of a reason why she would need to do it without Kazuto, but she was also eager to open the gifts. She sat down on the couch with the girls surrounding her. Silica handed her a box with floral wrapping on it.
Asuna tore into the box and felt her face turn bright red at the sets of lingerie in it. She laughed nervously, then put it back on the coffee table, picking up another box that seemed to small to be anything like the first one.
In this box, there was a bracelet that had charms and beads on it. One of the charms, she could tell was custom made. It was two swords, crossed at the blade. Upon closer inspection, Asuna realized that they were Lambent Light and Elucidator. She smiled, then tried it on. It was beautiful.
"We all chipped in for that one.", Sugu said.
"I love it!", Asuna replied.
They all laughed. Asuna pulled another box into her lap. This one was bigger than a lot of the others. She tore the wrapping off of the package. Under the wrapping, there was a bed set that was black and white damask. Asuna had been thinking about getting a new one for her bed. She doubted that Kazuto would like pink very much. He normally didn't care, but with both of them living there, they might want something a little more mutual.
