Lucy POV

Today's the day I'm gonna do it. I'm going to leave this place. For good. I'll go earn some gym badges, find some pokemon... I'll go anywhere but here. Spetto-san helped me packed my bags; I told her I was going on a trip to Cerulean City. I'm really going to miss her. But not my father. Him, I'm happy to leave. He probably wouldn't care I'm gone anyways.

Back to regular POV (because Lucy's POV lasted sooo long... *sarcasm implied*)

Lucy checked her belt for her pokeballs... Aquarius, a Gyarados, who hardly ever listens to her, Taurus, a Tauros (She thought the name was close and fitting), Cancer, a Krabby, Virgo, a Sandshrew, Sagittarius, a Doduo, and Plue. "Good, let's get going!" A look of determination swept across her face, and she walked out the door. She gave one last look at her home before she jumped on her bicycle. And left.

Lucy was not going to Cerulean City however, in case her father would track her from there when he got back. She was going to go somewhere where he wouldn't look. Pallet Town seemed an ideal place for this, the population was so small he probably wouldn't even think of it. Nor does it have a gym. Lucy didn't want to be a pokemon master or anything, she just wanted to have her own life. So why not start there? She didn't ride the whole way, of course. Lucy had taken enough money to get her there.

***

(Somewhere Outside of Pallet Town)

Lucy had been riding through tall grass for what seemed like forever. She had only run into a few wild pokemon, luckily for her. She didn't really want to battle, for she was so close to her destination. The grass nipped at her face as she rode, and she had to admit it was a nice day out. She was happy. Now came the problem of getting a job... she hadn't taken enough money to support herself without one for long. She started thinking as she rode enjoying her newfound freedom fully. The scenery is so nice here... much nicer than the dark buildings of the city. Look at the trees, the small little houses, the pink grass... Wait. Pink grass??? Lucy stopped, doing a double take back to where she had seen the strange phenomenon. I've never heard of pink grass before... And it's not as if I'm not well read. What is this then? She walked over slowly, head tilted slightly in confusion. Suddenly, the clump turned.

"Charmander, go!!!" There was a bright light and a Charmander appeared. As soon as Charmander was out of its pokeball, it covered at least three feet around it in flames.

"AH!" Lucy fell back, surprised. What just happened and why did that Charmander try to attack her? She then remembered the voice that accompanied the appearance of the pokemon. Just as she was about to say something, a figure blocked the sun from her eyes. After a few seconds of adjustment, she could see the person standing over her.

"Who are you?" The person said, head cocked, pink hair blowing slightly in the wind.

So it wasn't grass it was hair... Ok then. Wait... Lucy then realized what just happened. "HEY WHY DID YOU ATTACK ME YOU JERK?"

The man looked confused... "Oh I didn't know it was a person I thought it was a wild pokemon, sorry."

Lucy sighed. She then saw some smoke starting to rise from Charmander's 'appearance' "Well?" She gestured towards the still aflame grass behind where he stood. He looked even more confused. "Aren't you going to put out the fire???"

"O-Oh yeah... Ummmm... Actually I don't have enough water or anything... What do I do?"

Lucy just stared agape at him. He had fire pokemon and can't even put out a fire? How stupid is this guy? "Fine here let me." She reached in her satchel, grabbing a pokeball. "AQUARIUS!" A giant Gyrados appeared. "Now put out the fire." The pokemon just stared at Lucy. "Well, go on." Aquarius shook her head and went over to look at something else. Lucy sighed, sweatdropping. The pink haired man looked at her questioningly. "Just give me a sec" Lucy scurried over to Aquarius, trying to convince her to put out the fire. It was spreading rapidly. "Please? This is going to burn all the grass!"

The stubborn pokemon just shrugged. Not my problem. After a few more minutes of pleading from Lucy, she put out the fire. Not neatly, however. Lucy, the man and his Charmander were all soaked.

"Char charrrrrr..." Charmander complained.

"Oh I'm so sorry!" Lucy looked at her pokemon angrily. "Come back Aquarius" The stubborn Gyarados was put back into her pokeball, and the ball back into Lucy's satchel.

The pink haired man smiled. "No it's no problem! I was hot anyways. We've been traveling a while; I think we got lost... Do you know where we are?"

Lucy responded, "Oh! We're somewhere between Viridian City and Pallet Town?"

The pinkette's smile grew even bigger. "Great! We're right near where we need to be! We came from Lavender Town, in case you were wondering."

Lucy gasped. "All the way from Lavender Town? That's quite far, even farther than where I came from! Why were you there, anyways?" Lucy looked at him and his torn up clothes. Then she realized something. "And did you walk the whole way?"

His pink hair fell in his face as he laughed. "We were there on a job, of course. And yes we did walk the whole way, didn't we Happy?" The Charmander smiled at being called by his nickname, and nodded vigorously.

"Why, may I ask did you walk the whole way?"

"Oh I get REALLY motion sick. It's better if we just go by foot."

"That makes sense I guess. My name is Lucy, by the way." She held out her hand to shake the still smiling man's.

The shook hands. "Natsu. Nice to meetchya Lucy!"

Lucy turned to leave when Natsu said, "Wait where ya goin?"

"I'm going to go to Pallet Town to try to settle down and get a job!"

"You need a job?" His face lit up. "Then come with us!!!" With that he grabbed the blonde's hand and started dragging her a completely different direction. As they passed her bike he picked it up and carried it over his shoulder.

"Wh-where are we going?"

"To the Fairy Tail Gym! It's located in the forest a little outside of Pallet."

"But-" Lucy was cut short because Natsu started dragging her again. He turned to look at her.

"You're a trainer and you wanted a job right?"

"Well... yeah..."

Then let's go!" And with that he flashed a smile so big she didn't have the heart to say no. Well, what do I have to loose?  Lucy smiled too.

"Ok!"
