"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" screamed my little brother. He loved when it was someone's birthday even if he didn't like the person, and I was turning 16 so he got very excited this year. I could see my mum looking at me through the corner of my eye, she had a happy expression on her face. She has a problem with sleeping and this makes her depressed, so it made this birthday even better by seeing her happy. A knock at the door interrupted my thoughts. "I'll get that" dad said. After a minute or two he came back holding a small rectangle box, covered with deep red wrapping paper. "Whats that?" Matty called curiously. "Not sure till I open it silly!" I winked at Matthew, he smiled back. I teared the wrapping paper open and in the box was a doll. It had a freaky look to it."No card came with that, so I don't know who it's from, but thats sweet of them"said Dad.

I left the doll in the box while I ate my tea. I had a funny feeling about the doll, when I had opened the box I had felt as if the surroundings had been swallowed up and I was all alone, in a cold dark space with a dark atmosphere hanging around me. It hadn't felt natural and in some way the doll had felt cursed, but maybe I am just over thinking, it's not like it can harm me...
