Chapter 1: Glimpse

Shin has gone through hardships. Shin is always trying to prove to herself that she can be independent. She is doing her best to move away from the shadows of her rich family.

Walsh family has been connected to different companies and invest in different ventures. Shin being a part of Walsh family is not something to be celebrated.

Shin Faye Walsh is the youngest of the 3 siblings. Bryan Jared Walsh is her brother who is the oldest among them. Bryan is already 32 and married the love of his life at 28 years old. Shin always admire the relationship built by Bryan and his wife, Savannah. She always dreamt of having that warm atmosphere the couple radiates because of love.

She has another brother who is only 2 years older than her,
Kevin Charles Walsh. Shin and Kevin are close and pull prank to each other whenever there is an opportunity.

One thing Shin doesn't want about her family is their influence. Being an influential family has its burden. Shin can't date in public because surely they will be followed around restaurant and her pictures will be published on every newspaper available.

Shin is a widely known model and the fact that she belong to Walsh family brings the need for paparazzi to put her life on public. She enjoys modelling but decided to make it as a hobby and not a job.

SHIN'S P.O.V.

"Oh fudge, I will be late."

Miranda heard my anxious voice so she ask the driver if there's a shortcut route.

Miranda is my modelling manager and we are heading to the company she referred to me. I told her yesterday that I want to cut the time I spent on posing for the camera and I wanted to use my degree. I graduated as an accountancy student, though I do not have longer years of experience doing jobs of an accountant, I got certifications, seminars and training that could give me a higher position.

Today I am applying for the position of a finance director. I have a double degree so I think I am qualified for the position. Miranda told the driver that he can just wait for us at the parking lot and she will call him when we are done. The driver opened the car door and he move again to the driver seat. Miranda and I walk towards the high rise building.

"You do not need to apply to the HR manager. The CEO can admit you if he likes or dismiss your application."  Miranda told me as she pressed the button in the elevator.

"What? The CEO is involved in the admission of applicants? He has the time to entertain employees?" I told this to Miranda with a pissed voice.

"Yeah. Even though he is busy, he makes time for this. He believes it is important to know who will work for the company." she told me passively.

"So do you think I could make it."

"Shin, you can surpass his expectations. Besides he is my cousin, I could convince him to accept you." Miranda said with an encouraging wink.

"You do not need to do that. I can accept it if he dismiss me. The last thing I would want is using any influence especially for getting a job." I just said this after we get out on the elevator.

We are now in the 58th floor of the building. I guess this is the floor where I will be interviewed.
"Miranda, you can wait for me in the car. I guess I'll just need to talk to the CEO if he is in the office?"

"Yeah, that's right. I already ask his secretary, Ms. Bell. I've made an appointment for your interview though were late for few minutes, do your best!" Miranda said and waved goodbye.

I walk towards the door and knock. A white haired woman because of her age open the door.  I suppose this is Ms. Bell.

"Good afternoon. I am the one who is applying for-"
She cut the words and open the door widely and let me in.

She walks toward the guy who is seated on the chair facing the window. I cannot see his face.

"Sir, Ms. Walsh is here. The one who is to be interviewed." Ms. Bell told him with her shaky voice. I wonder why she is nervous.

The chair suddenly move and now the CEO faced me. He looks mad.

"Fudge, yeah I'm late." I told myself.
