THE LONG LOST KISS

Once in every lifetime, there is a story that would always reign over our dreams both in our sleep in our waking hours. The story of true love's kiss to wake us up from our slumbers and allow us escapes from our nightmares.

People, from before the times to this day, believe that love is something that has to be shown and acted upon. Some ladies out there find it comforting to see actions backing up the sweetened words of love and affection. That is why a kiss is more meaningful than any vow of love there is on this planet.

And that is the sole reason, why every girl dreams to be kissed by their very own prince charming.

However, what if one day, your prince came along but your much awaited kiss never took place? What will you do? How will you feel? Will there still be love for your prince? Will you relentlessly fight for that kiss you much so yearn for?

Indeed, for a young lady, Allison McBride, it was certainly a roller coaster ride.

After a long time of waiting, she finally met him, her "Prince Charming". Allison met George Parker one afternoon in the park and fell instantly in love with him. George is very kind, loving and caring. He made her feel like she's a princess, exactly like those in her daydreams. He made her smile, made her laugh, bought her presents, and everything else that a prince can offer.

One year has passed but for Allison, there was something lacking in their relationship. George has done everything to make her happy except for one very important thing. He has yet to give her the much awaited first kiss.

So, one day, unable to stir off her curiosity, she talked to him.

"Darling, we have been in this relationship for a year already but I still don't know what it feels like to be truly loved," Allison started.

"How can you say that? Is my love for you not enough?" George replied, baffled.

"I want to feel your love, George. If you truly love me, then hug me," she said. George complied and wrapped her in a comfortable embrace. "Tighter, please." She insisted and George did so. Yet still, Allison felt void. She looked at George's eyes when he released her.

"Is that all?" George asked.

"Kiss me."

Allison closed her eyes and waited for smooth, warm lips to touch her own but it never came. Ten seconds later she began to cry.

"Why? Why won't you kiss me?"

"I can't," George replied, tears glistening his eyes.

"Do you not love me? " she asked.

"You know how much I love you, Ally,"

"Then why???" her voice shaking with tears. George cupped her cheeks and wiped her tears with the pads of his thumbs, hoping to calm her down.

"Please, wait after we get married. In the altar, I promise that I will give you your first kiss. I promise," he vowed.

"Then let's get married today!" Allison replied, half joking yet half serious. She really wanted to be kissed by this man that she loved with all her heart.

"You're only sixteen, my princess. We need to wait after you have turned eighteen." He replied, smiling a warm smile to erase the loneliness painted on his face.

"Can we not pretend we are in the medieval time, my prince, and get married tonight?" She said, laughing slightly at the ludicrous notion.

"I'm afraid it's glaring 2020, my princess. I cannot marry you when you're a minor." He replied, chuckling, glad that the atmosphere has shifted to a lighter vibe.
