Chapter 1
Tick, tock, tick, tock. The clock continues to tick away as I wait for school to be over. Summer is just around the corner and all I wish for is a miracle to happen. Yeah, I'm one of thoses girls. The lonely one, the shy one, stuck in my shell forever. Nothing in my life is satisfying right now. Insecurities creep up on me every time I see a pretty girl, popular and gets all the attention from guys because that's what every girl wants right? The only thing I'm looking forward to doing this summer is staying locked up in my room and sleeping, eating delivery pizza and listening to my favorite band, Big Time Rush. Total Loser status, but I don't care. If it makes me happy then nothing else matters.
"Bell Rings." Intercom turns on: "SCHOOL IS OFFICIALLY OUT!! HAVE A GREAT SUMMER EVERYBODY AND SEE YOU BACK IN AUGUST!! CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SENIOR CLASS OF 2013!"
WOOOHOOO!! Everyone rushing out of the classrooms, eager to start their summer vacation. While I should also be excited, I'm kind of dreading the thought of being cooped up in my room all summer while everyone is out having fun. It's a continuing tradition for me. I'm left home alone while my parents jet off to Greece like always. I say I'll be fine, but in reality I'm hungry for some fun. I'm in desperate need of different summer agenda this time around. It's a good thing I'm officially done with high school. I decided not to walk in the ceremony because there was no point in it when my parents are leaving for vacation and no one will be there to cheer for me or tell me how proud they are of me that I graduated.
"Hey Sweetie, How was your last day of school? " My mom asked me while she zipped up her suitcase all ready to head out.
"It was great mom..... it was really great....." I said sarcastically. "That's good sweetie, your father and I will be off now, I left you some money sealed in an envelope in your room. I also did some last minute grocery shopping in case you get hungry ok? "
"Great... mom... that's great..." I said again with sarcasm.
"Honey! We have to go! We're gonna be late for our flight! It leaves in an hour." My mom said as she was telling my dad to hurry.
I ran upstairs to my room and headed straight for the window to open it all the way. I stared down at my parents as they scurried off to the car. When they got in the car, they both shot me a look and I waved to them. My mother blew me a kiss and I returned the gesture. I watched them drive off until they disappeared off into the distance. I continued to look out the window until I realized the sky color changed and it was dark out. In a matter of seconds, a shooting star shot across the sky and I quickly closed my eyes and made a wish.
Chapter 2
I looked at my clock and its 4:30 am. I realized I have not gone to sleep yet. I've been up all night just staring at my ceiling. I noticed tiny little sparkles that I never seen before. Maybe I was hallucinating or maybe I never really took the time to look at my ceiling. I was fascinated.
My stomach started to growl so I walked downstairs into the kitchen. I opened the fridge to find it filled with food. I was set for the whole summer and won't need to make any trips to the store. I grabbed some eggs, bacon, cheese, and a half sandwich. I set them all on the table and whipped out frying pan and started making breakfast.
"Turn up the radio, so what if we lose control, get a little bit rock n' roll. Oh whoa oh. So throw your hands in the air, c'mon and make this count, its only you and me nevermind this crowd, do it like you do it. Do it like Nobody's around."
I started singing as I flip the eggs. Nothing like having a BTR tune around. They always keep me content. Finally I was able to eat my breakfast, but had to put that on hold when all of a sudden I hear some voices coming from outside my front yard. I put my glass down and gracefully get up to see what was going on.
