Chapter 10

"No." I simply stated, "I'm not going into your apartment."

"You're not going into my house." He chuckled, "You're going into Vic's."

"I thought you two lived with your parents?"

"No. The basement is where we have band practice and stuff like that but we don't live there. Vic lives here and I live a few blocks down."

"Whatever." I sneered, "I'm not going into anybody's apartment."

"Quit trying to act like you're mad at me!" he laughed, "Besides, you need to come in. You need t-"

"No. What I need to do is go home. It's already like 4. I need to get home and get dinner and get ready for tomorrow and the following week."

"What's tomorrow?"

"I have to work a double."

"Oh?"

"Yea. I was supposed to work a regular shift but this girl wanted me to work today and she promised me she'd take my Monday and the shift after if I took hers today and tomorrow." I said truthfully.

"Where do you work?" He asked curiously.

"Red Lobster." I lied.

"Bullshit." He replied "You work at McDonald's."

"How did you know?"

"Tony and Jaime."

Oh.

"Oh."

"Why'd you lie?" He asked while turning the car off.

"Because..." I hesitated. I guess it wouldn't hurt to tell him the truth. "Because I didn't want you to think that I was a cheap...its just I didn't want you to make fun of me since I guess you have the right to."

"Cody Marie, that's complete bullshit. I'd never make fun of you for something like that." He said sweetly. He started to laugh. "Code, why do you think I'm such a bad guy?"

"Okay one, don't call me Cody or Code. I don't like it when you call me that. We're not friends. Two, I think you're a bad guy because you are. You thin-" I said as rudely as I could, but I was cut off when he got out of the car, shut the door and came around to my side and opened the door.

He smirked and leaned over me, making me take a sharp inhale of breath, but luckily he just unbuckled me. He grabbed my wrist and tugged them lightly, making me get out of the car. He let go of me, and shut the door and locked the door.

I momentarily thought of running, but I've never been to this part of San Diego before. I come from the 'bad part' or the 'ghetto' of San Diego, while this looks like the the better part of San Diego. It looked modern, but not ritzy, which is kind of cool considering they all have the money in the world to get ritzy apartments, but instead, Vic chose a modest apartment. That's kind of cool.

"Code....?" Mikes voice interrupts me from my thoughts. I glare at him and he has a questioning look before a look of recognition "...y Marie?"

"Better." I simply stated before walking away. Or at least trying to.

"What are you doing?" He asked, from far away.

"I'm leaving?" I asked as it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps behind me and Mike appeared in front of me, looking amused. "Do you really want to try and outrun me?"

"Fuck off, will ya??" I asked. I kept on walking but before I could get to the road, he placed both of his hands on each of my shoulders and held me in place. He stared at me deep in my eyes. I was struggling and then all of the sudden, I just stopped.
