Just Do it

" Add him already Scarlet!" Jasmine (my pushy best friend) demands.

" I don't know Jaz. What if he doesn't like me?" 

" Whats not to like? Just do it." She begs. 

I hesitantly slide my finger onto the left click and push down adding who I didn't know at the time would soon be my biggest mistake. My heart races as I anticipate what I would even say to him. I had a crush on him for a while but he was unaware I existed until now. 

To my surprise he added me back fast. I felt my nerves trembling still wondering what to say. "Don't mess this up Scar. Do not say the wrong thing, be cool." I thought. Unexpectedly I heard a message notification, but I swore my teacher did too. My face turned bright and I slowly turned around to see if she had noticed the loud ding. I was in the clear, Mrs. Hamble was still off in her own world reading a book on psychology. 

I quickly opened the message and it read,

"Hey." He wrote. I wasn't expecting a lot at first but hey  did not leave much room for error so I replied.

" Hey =]"

" Do I know you? Im Rex." he replied

" No I don't think you do, but I'm friends with your cousin Jaz. She told me to add you." I quickly typed still nervous.

" Oh ok. Well your pretty cute." He said boldly. 

"Thank you =]." I replied with the cheesiest grin on my face. 

That was all that had been said, no reply so naturally I figured I messed it up some how. Talking to guys was never a strong talent of mine. I continued my day as I always would, a little bummed out but ready to see my other friends next hour knowing I would be doing their work. It didn't bother me much, their loss was my gain in knowledge. 

The bell rang loudly and a crowd of over eager students bolted through the classroom door knocking into each other. I always stayed back and waited for them to go. It was time for science and even though I didn't like the teacher it was my favorite subject. As I took my seat I looked around and there came my very handsome friend Jensen. It took us a while to be friends because we had a rocky start. We met at a football game both guns hot and ready to fight each other because of our former friends and even then he was still so gorgeous but unfortunately he was taken. I respected that, I just didn't understand why he would be so crazy about a girl who obviously cared nothing for him. Then came in Lina, as bubbly as ever. She was the go getter in our clique and sometimes a little over bearing but we loved her just the same. Lastly came Alex, the country boy who slowly dropped hints about his love for me. I blew them off most of the time because I cared for him deeply but in a friend kind of way.

" Okay students, turn to chapter 12 and read the first 6 pages. I will be handing out a quiz shortly." Mr. Turner stated.

The sound of fingers quickly rustling paper filled the room. I could hear tapping, snoring, squeaking and smacking as everyone focused. I was off in a daze still thinking about if Rex would message me back. 

Mid daze I was startled back to reality, " Scar!" Jensen loudly whispered tapping my shoulder. "You should do this for me, Mr. Turner wont notice."

Sighing I accepted and finished my work quickly to get to his also. As always we both received an "A". 

"Thanks Scar, I am meeting up with Isabel later on and I needed to write this letter to her. She is mad at me again." he explained. 

I nodded using the rest of the hour doodling and my phone buzzed. Excitement flooded my body and I quickly checked my phone. It was to my relief to see I had a message but it was from Jaz.

It read, "hey girl I'm going over to Luke's house later  and Rex will be there so you should tell your mom your staying the night and I'll tell mine I'm going to your house. Then we can go there, your not grounded from your car or anything right?" 

" No I'm not grounded but what if we get caught or what if he thinks I'm fat and ugly in person? I think I'll just stay home."

"Girl, come on your have to. Just do it already damn quit being such a baby!" she playfully jabbed. 

"Ok, but if we get in trouble its on you." I gave in. 

School was finally out, kids scattered across the parking lot loading up into their vehicles and speeding off. Chatter and gossip filled the hallways as we walked out to our cars. I would have said bye to Jensen but he was throat deep with his tongue in Isabel's mouth and Alex had already left to get to work on time. Jaz and I got to her house and it was go time. We went through 20 outfits finding the perfect one for her, I had on what I liked already though. A Hurley tee shirt and some cute jeans, all I needed to do was get my hair tamed and put on some make up. I felt the time speed past me as I was trying to get ready to meet this man. 

"Come on Scar lets go to your house before it gets too late." she squealed at me grinning a sheepish grin. 

Off we left to what would soon be one of my biggest mistakes as I had stated before. I'm getting ahead of myself though its always great before the fall and this fall would be one most wouldn't recover from.
