POTTERMOST CODE OF CONDUCT

For those of you who are refugees from the ever more "secure" original Pottermore©, I'm sure you're familiar with their Code of Conduct. We understand that we are not the original Pottermore©, nor are we associated with them whatsoever. We do, however feel as though a few of their rules are there for a reason, and therefore have made them applicable to this forum as well.

Chat Rules:

1. BE ORIGINAL: While we want to maintain a "Potter World," we ask that you avoid copyright infringement and stay away from using direct text from any of the stories without proper citation.

2. LANGUAGE, DARLINGS: No excessive use of foul language. Moderators have the ability to remove comments as they see fit. If it disappears, it's likely for a reason.

3. EW. GROSS: If you wouldn't do it in front of your mother, don't do it in front of us. We ask that you refrain from overzealous public displays of affection.

4. DON'T BE A BULLY: Bullying of any kind will not be tolerated. We are here as a community, and while we understand that not everyone is going to get along, we ask that you try and solve your differences. If that fails, then remember: if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

5. KEEP YOURSELF, TO YOURSELF: Yes. It's great. 12345678910. That doesn't mean we want you putting your phone numbers, ages, email.addresses or any other type of personal information out there for all to see. We want to keep this a safe place. Anyone in violation of this particular rule will automatically be banned. First offense: A period of one week. Second offense: Permanently.

Roleplay Rules:

In addition to the aforementioned rules, please keep this in mind when utilizing our Roleplay forums.

1. ASK PERMISSION FIRST: As we grow, you will see more and more roleplay. We ask that you mind your manners and wait for permission from the roleplay authors before joining any on the comment boards. We will do our best to make sure no one is left behind, or forgotten.

2. STAY IN CHARACTER: Please remain in character at all times, unless clearly stating otherwise. The Chat Page is for idle chatting and hanging out with others, and we'd like to keep the roleplay restricted to this section and leave so much more room for activities in the GH. This also allows us to moderate behavior more closely and determine what is appropriate and what is not.

3. EVERYONE DISLIKES A GOD MOD: Yes, we have magic. But that does not mean that you're going to miraculously dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge every weapon or punch thrown your way. We also know very well from our experience in the "Potter World", you most certainly can die.

4. DON'T BE A BULLY: We know, we know, it says that up above. We can't stress this enough. While we understand that some characters may not be the most friendly, the mods retain the right to step in if we feel like it's becoming too personal, or otherwise encroaching on being malicious.

Moderators also hold the power to suspend or expel students. In other words, we can and will ban you. This decision will be based on a three-strike rule, and majority vote of said moderators. We also retain the right to change, amend, and add rules as we see fit, should new issues arise. We obviously cannot moderate 24/7, so we ask that if there is an issue that we are not immediately aware of, that you bring it to our attention VIA the "Ask the Mods" pages.
