I laid Tati in the tub as I washed her naked body. I make sure I got every bruise on her body. Every time she would hiss or say ouch when I cleaned her up, my heart dropped a little.
I can't believe I wasn't there to protect her from getting hurt. I can't believe that her mother came back and did worse to her. I can't believe that she wasn't able to fight back.
I saw Tati eyes start to close a little so I took her out the tub, dried her, and dressed her in one of my shirts, which looks like a dress to her. I laid her on the bed and I laid down with her.
"Jon?".
"Yes babygirl?".
"I'm sorry. I must've put you in a lot of stress but I promise that I'll try to fight back harder next time. I'm sorry.".
"Don't say that. Just get some sleep, okay? I worried about your health. Not mine.".
"I love you.".
"I love you too.". I said kissing her forehead as she laid on top of me. I made sure she was sleep before I could go to sleep.
