Foot by foot, Samuel walks down the stairs. His steps are precise and flawless. It is hard for me to keep up with all his delicate footing patterns, almost impossible. I stare at his dark brown, neatly cut hair. Attempting to grasp it with my hand, the cold knife of reality hits me once again. You know that you will never be able to feel the way humans do! What's up with you? But I like him, I wish he could see me. I wish, I were real!
Blocking out the criticism that I call my thoughts, I try and get a good look at Sam's face. But unless he is leaning over something, I will never see exactly what he is. Now Samuel's going to go about without a shadow for the rest of the day to school! Ugh, this is the worst! I just hope that he doesn't see those girls Christa and Kaile again. They are so pretty, and always try and flirt with him! It's heartbreaking to see the boy I love with other girls.
If only I were Christa, then I would get Sam, and be best friends with the prettiest girl in school!
If only.....
