Her body was hanging there like a rag doll. Her face was blank, skin pale, arms and legs bloody with hundreds of viciously scrawled cuts. My knees felt weak as I slid to the floor, my thoughts raced around in my head, I knew why she did it. But I couldn't believe she would leave me with those monsters, the ones we called parents. Something white caught my eye, sitting there delicately folded with my name written in her delicate yet precise scrawl. As I read through I knew why she left me here. I knew why she didn't let me leave. I hated her for leaving me but I knew why. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and quickly hid the note in my coat pocket. The door swung open and in steeped my parents, my mother screamed when she saw her and sunk to her knees crying, my father just stared blankly at her body hanging there with tears falling from his face. I always knew she was his favourite, but I didn't know that he cared that much. More tears streamed down my face joining the already present ones. Her father walked over to her body and plucked another note from the ground, his eyes skimmed over it and as he took a shaking breath he started to read it out loud
'Dear family
I'm sorry but this world isn't a place for me. I was misplaced but I don't blame you. I know you love me deep down but you never showed it, and I know that in a few weeks you'll forget that I was ever alive cause I'm not something that needs to be dwelled on. So look at me now are you proud of your precious child the one you loved so much you forgot to show it. I'm running out of room to write and it's time to say goodbye.
I guess I love you but I just couldn't say it aloud and I'm sorry'
My father read the note as my mother and I cried, fresh tears thickening his voice, who knew a monster could care so much about someone who he beat and abused, but I could hear it in his voice that he cared, and he still does he just couldn't find a way to show it. My mother stood up shakily and walked over to him, her face plastered with grief and pain. She put her arms around him and comforted him, he wrapped his arms around her and buried his head in her hair, they where monsters but they still loved each other. I grabbed my phone and headphones and walked out slipping my black vans on and walked onto the street.
