he cracked his eyes open, revealing glazed emerald orbs before letting out a small breath. he was in his bed, with the sheets tangled around his legs and his clothes discarded on the floor. next to him was her back turned away from him, her soft body moulding into his-heavy breathing fanning the crumpled sheets.
a flood of sunlight entered the room as the curtain delicately fluttered. he gently rolled out of breath, stumbling over the clothes on the floor as he tried to capture his thoughts. but his mind was blank, and he needed space. space and oxygen.
her body lay, undisturbed on the mattress. the sheets were pulled up to her chest, but not her back-revealing her smooth, soft skin he had stroked the night before. suddenly he remembered. he remembered the way their bodies were pushed up against eachother, the way her sweet lips met his and how his hands delicately traced over her body like she was a blooming, dewy bud.
closing his eyes, a smile graced his face before he could hear the faint rustle of sheets. Faye got up, pulling on her tulle skirt and parting her long hair to cover her soft breasts. their eyes locked, and she stared at him before looking away.
"i'm sorry" she breathed. before he could drawl out a reply, she swiftly grabbed his shirt and pulled it over her head before jumping out of the window. he stood still, shocked before he followed her. she jumped over the picket fence, her bare feet smashing against the harsh concrete as she left a faint smudge of blood over the pavements.
"FAYE!" he hollered. a flock of birds flew, flapping their legs before letting out an ugly screech from their beaks. a window opened, and an angry looking man swore at them. Forrest ignored him, stumbling amidst the woods as he desperately tried to catch up with her.
she stopped, panting heavily before he grabbed her arm and hurled her towards him. she screamed, before breaking into a fit of sobs, crying and screaming and moulding into his frame. he clutched her tightly, his hard chest rising and falling as he felt tears stream down his naked chest.
it was at that moment did he realize he was half naked, wearing a loose pair of jeans and bare feet. but he could care less now. Forrest cupped her face and leaned in closer, so close he could feel her tears brush against his cheeks.
"why are you so scared of the idea of us?" he whispered, deathly afraid of her answer. she stared deep into his eyes, her beautiful, beautiful fingers brushing against his cheek before she opened her chapped lips to respond.
"i was scared you were using me. scared that the day after you were going to leave me. scared that you didn't even love me" she replied, voice wobbly and uneven like the path in his backyard. Forrest leaned in to capture her sweet lips, before breaking away as he shakily wiped the sweat from her forehead.
"i fucking love you Faye. i really do" he said, before he scooped her up in his arms and carried her back home.
