Coraline walked down the street she had always walked on. A slight breeze danced with her crimson hair, as her vibrant green eyes gazed all around. There was big news. Randy, Keith, Troy had gotten beat up and sent to the hospital this Morning. A kid named Liu, or his brother, Jeffrey, was the fugitive. As Coraline opened the door to her home, she heard giggles. A female giggle at that. Coraline slowly crept up the stairs, not wanting the uninvited visitors to hear the creaking floor boards under her feet. She listened as the giggles got more louder and louder. They chortled, no it was more like a sexual chortle. Coraline's heart jumped out of her chest and froze when she found out where the noise was coming from. It was her father's and mother's bedroom. Her hand lightly gripped on the cold rusted golden handle to the door. Turning the door handle slowly, salty tears ran down her porcelain like cheeks. Coraline swifty made her way to her room.
Coraline turned the sliver handles of her front door. The morning mildew filled the air with a distinct scent, it had stormed last nice, so the air felt Moise and smelled like a mixture of fresh air and gloom. Coraline took a deep breath. She stepped on the wet concrete, she felt the water trying to hide in the souls of her shoes. She stepped once more. Red and blue flash took over her vision for a second. The police barley came to our neighborhood. But this car pulled in next door. It was Jeffrey's and Liu's house. She heard their mother talking in a mother like tone of anger. Suddenly the officers pulled out there guns out in the it holsters like their was a robber holding people at gunpoint. One of the officers yelled "put the weapon on the ground!" The next noise was clinking noise, like dropping silverware and it in bouncing off the ground then stops. Coraline saw hands come out the door, then a boy pleading for the other one to tell the policemen that it was him. Liu's eyes turned on Coraline's, they made eye contact. Liu's face went red for a second, then went back to reality. They roughly shoved him in the car, Jeffrey was sobbing. His mother looked distressed and disappointed. Jeffrey missed school that day. But several rumors had already spread though the school. Liu went to jail, Randy, Keith, and Troy were sent to the hospital with some of them hurt with stab wounds. It was a mess. The next day Jeffrey appeared at school, but avoided everyone. Coraline didn't want to approach him because that awkwardness that happened when Liu was forced into a police car and drove off. She still has to pass their house to reach the bus stop. Coraline had quickly walked past Jeffrey as he sobbed his eyes out. He had taken a quick glance at her as her feet quick ran past. Coraline just looked at him, she took a deep breath and quickly walked to him.
"Jeffrey? I am sorry." Coraline said quickly.
"For?" Jeffrey had said while looking up at her.
"Just for walking past you a few days ago." She said apologetically.
He had just laughed. It made Coraline feel slightly uncomfortable. But she sat next to him.
"May I call you Jeff?" She said bravely.
"Why not? What can I call you?" He questioned.
"Coraline." She smiled.
Jeff smiled back. Coraline and Jeff just talked to each other. Jeff talked about how he was the one that actually put the three bullies in their places. He though Coraline wouldn't want to hang around him anymore since he had stabbed the kids, but truthfully she didn't care. They walked to class together, ate lunch together, and they even walked home together. Jeff had stopped and turned to look at Coraline.
"Hey, if I told you something really fucked, would you still like being around me?" Jeff had said while looking deep into Coraline's eyes.
"Of course Jeff, you are already like a best friend to me." She smiled.
"When I hurt those kids....I....." Jeff began to say then closed his mouth.
"Jeff..." Coraline had whispered and grabbed his hands gently. "You can tell me anything." She finished off.
He took a deep breath then exhaled slowly.
" I enjoyed hurting those kids...." He finished off, then closed his eyes waiting to be rejected by her.
"Jeff, I still don't mind." She smiled.
Jeff just looked at her with soft eyes.
"You have beautiful eyes Coraline." He said softly. He touched her hair. "You hair is beautiful too."
Coraline blushed. She couldn't back away from him. All Coraline could do was look
deeply into Jeff's eyes. They were a light blue, they were very sparkly.
"Oh sorry..." Jeff worriedly apologized and let go of her hair
"I-it's fine....." Coraline stuttered.
"Coraline...If the world rejects me, will you reject me too?" Jeff looked down as he waited for an answer.
"Of course not Jeff , even if everyone one in your life throws you away, I'll take you in for myself..." Coraline shyly proclaimed.
Jeff looked her straight in her Sea green eyes, and said. "Remember that...Pinky Promise ?" Jeff held out his pinky by her hand. Coraline blushed then smiled.
"Pinky Promise."
