I took a few steps into the small red house pulling my suitcase behind me. Then I stood there and looked around, there wasn't much to see, just a couch, a tv, a kitchen, and hallway. I walked into the hallway and saw three doors. I looked in the first two doors, the first door was the bathroom and the second door was an empty room. I walked into the empty room which I assumed was my room since there was only one more room in the house which had to be my new fostor mom's room. The people from the adoption agency had told me that she lived alone with no husband or boyfriend so it would just be me and her living here together. I observed my room which had a window, a closet, and no furniture which made me wonder where I was going to sleep. I heard someone walk in so I turned around to see who it was even though I figured it was the person from the adoption agency who brought me here. It was actualy a women who I've seen a few times at the agency, she looked to be in her early thirties, she was average height, with blonde hair that was to her shoulders, and dark brown eyes. She was really pretty and she almost seemed to glow as she smiled at me. "You must be Niko" she chimed. "Yes I am, you must be Ms. Ninlock" I smiled politely back at her. "You can just call me mom, unless you don't feel that comfortable yet, I guess you could call me Ms. Ninlock for now" she seemed really nice and hoped we could get along. Then she looked around at the empty room then looked back at me and with a sincere face she said "Sorry your room's so empty, I thought you would want to pick out your own furniture. Plus a shopping spree should be great bounding time for us" She looked at me waiting for a reply. "Sure that would be fun" I couldn't help but smile because I knew that this was the start of a new beginning.
That evening me and Ms. Ninlock unloaded the heavy boxes from the back of her blue pick up truck and into my new room. We had a lot of fun at IKEA earlier picking out a bed, a dresser, a desk, and other small things to put in my room. After we put eveything in my room we decided that we would assemble the furniture after we rested. Because I didn't have a bed yet I slept on the couch.
The next morning I woke up to the smell of Ms. Ninlock making waffles in the kitchen. "Ahh, I see you finally woke up" she said. I slowly opened my eyes and looked at the clock. "It's only 6 o clock!" I yelled. "The early bird gets the worm" she said. "Ugh, I don't care I'm not a bird" I complained. Then I got up and shuffled to the table to eat some waffles.
After breakfast Ms. Ninlock and I went to my room to assemble my furniture and by that evening my room had a bed on one end and a dresser and desk on the other end. I just finished unpacking all my stuff when Ms. Ninlock walked in. She smiled gently and I told me to get some rest so I climbed into my new bed and closed my eyes. That night I fell asleep in my new bed and for the first time in a while I felt at home.
