Chapter-2: Dinner

KYLIE'S P.O.V

It was like 2 p.m. and I was helping my mom unload the last things. The only thing we had left to do was to put our picture frames against the wall. My mom placed the last framed picture and made sure it wasn't crooked.

Mom: "and we are done !" she said excitedly.

Kylie: "So now what do we do ?"

Mom:"well .. you should go outside and try to get to know the neighborhood."

Kylie:" but ... mom I don't know anyone here to show me around ?"

Mom: "How about we invite the next door neighbors for dinner ?"

Kylie:"I guess if you want to ... it doesn't sound like a bad idea"

Mom:"Well can you go let them know if they can come over to the house like around 5:30 pm ?"

Kylie:"okay."

I walked over to my room and changed out of my pj's (yes I still had my pjs on at 2 in the afternoon).I got my high waisted shorts and a loose shirt that was a pearl color. I got my sandals and I brushed my hair down. I walked down stairs.

Kylie:"I'll be back"

Mom:"okay honey."

I walked out the door and I walked down the path that led me to the front door. I was so nervous. I didn't know if the kid I saw the other day was going to open the door or maybe someone else. I took a deep breathe and knocked on the door gently. I heard someone shout 'coming' I didn't know if it was a guy or I girl I couldn't here them clearly cause they were kind of far away from the door. I heard foot steps and I see a guy open the door. He only had some sweats on. I looked at him and admired his abs.

Justin:"heyy...um just to let you know my face is up here" he said while he smirked at me.

I started to laugh while I looked at him.

Kylie:"haha sorry ..." I said while I felt my cheeks heat up.

Justin:"haha that's alright uhh ... what's your name by the way ?"

Kylie:" my names Kylie its nice to meet you " I said while smiling and shaking his hand.

Justin:"hey Kylie I'm Justin." he said while smiling.

Kylie:"Well Justin I just wanted to let you know that my mom and I are inviting you and your family over for dinner today."

Justin:" okay i'll let my mom know. What time ?"

Kylie:" at like 5:30."

Justin:"Alright then I guess i'll see you later... bye."

Kylie:"bye." I said while smiling.

Justin closed the door and I walked away with a big smile . I am so happy I know his name and that I got to talk to him. I walked into my house and I saw my mom in the kitchen cleaning.

Mom:"so what did they say ?"

Kylie:" they said they'll be coming at 5:30."

Mom:" I can tell with that big smile you have on your face ."

I laughed and covered my face.

Mom:"well go get ready hunny its almost gonna be 4:30. I'll start cooking."

Kylie:"okay then."

I ran upstairs and I fell back on my bed looking up at the ceiling. I was so excited that the thought that Justin was going to come for dinner I couldn't wait. I got up and took a nice shower. When I got out I had already set up my outfit for dinner. I had picked out a purple dress with a skin colored belt. The dress was strapless and it was short and loose from the bottom. It was still decent though. I got my skin colored heels and I blow dryed my hair. I got the curling iron and I did loose curls on the tip of my blonde/light brown hair. I walked down stairs and my mom was setting the plates ready. It was 5:25. I was ready on time. I heard the doorbell ring and my mom and I opened it.
