May we come back to present day...?

                                              PRESENT DAY.....

I was pressed up against a wall in an alleyway. "Kasey?" A familiar voice murmured.

I knew that voice anywhere.

"Kasey, I know your here," She ceased, letting out a cold breath, I saw it fog up in the air, "Somewhere." she finished.

I chuckled to myself. Apparently, blustering enough for her to shift back towards me, "There you are."

Now note to self, you guys might be wondering who this person is.

Do you remember when that one girl came up to me and escorted me back to where I was suppose to be. Olivia? Yeah, that's her.

"Here I am." I repeated.

"Let's get back, okay?"

"Okay." I complained.

"Why'd you run off like that?" Olivia asked.

"I got mad." I paused, "And you don't like me burning things, so I ran." I shrugged, it was really no big deal.

She sighed loudly, "You can't just do that." She stated bringing on a motherly tone. Which I hated, since I completely despised my mother. That piece of shit.

I mean, piece of crap. Excuse my inappropriate language. I cleared my throat, "Whatever." I uttered.

"Why do you do that?"

"Why so many questions?" my voice rose to reach hers.

"Because I want answers." Her voice settled, "We don't need to fight in public."

If we were fighting I'd go all Mortal Combat on her ass. Ha! Hu! Winner!

"Okay," I already knew this "fight" was going to continue when we shut the front door of her apartment.

We continued down the street, people kept staring at me.

Ah, people. The joy of the Earth. Pa-lease! Tell me something more pathetic.

People cause wars, and hurt, and sorrow.

And people are annoying.

Personally, I'd rather be alone than with any people, or any person.

I hate people, end of story.

I'd glare back just because I could.

"You shouldn't do that."

"Why?"

"Because it lowers you to their level."

I mocked her then said, "Whatever."

We finally made it back. I nudged past her, and went into the apartment.

"Seriously, stop with the attitude." She said, hanging up her jacket.

"What attitude?" I asked turning on my heels to face her. I bit my tongue.

"That one." She said placing a hand on her hip.

"I'm sorry for having one." I said, putting my weight on my right foot, and crossing my arms across my chest.

"Your lucky to be here!"

"Your lucky to have me!"

"What's that suppose to mean?" She asked rudely.

"It means that you wouldn't have a kid right now if it weren't for me!"

"I could have a child with my boyfriend! You don't really count as my kid!"

"Well, your my guardian! And your boyfriend he cheated on you! Twice!"

"Tha- What?" Her face drooped down into melancholy.

"Yeah Okay? He cheated on you! He doesn't want to be with you anymore!" I shouted not really noticing or caring for her sudden distress.

I shoved my way past her, slamming the door shut behind me. I stood my back against the door, my head pressed into my hands.

That escalated quickly.

Stay calm.

I could feel the goose bumps on my skin. Shivers went down through my shoulders, down to my toes. I curled my toes inside my shoes. My breath puffed up into a cloud, fading away into the musty air.

I walked deep into the park, squeezing in through a couple rocks, leading to a thin trail. Reminds me of a poem by Robert Frost.

"I took the path less traveled."

Dead leaves crunched under my feet, as I took in the environment around myself.

I stepped forward, when I see someone in a hoodie. I dropped to my knees. Being obnoxiously blatant.

"Is someone there?" It was a male's voice. He turned towards me, not noticing me. He stood up, cramming something into his back pocket.

His posture was odd. He leaned a little to the right while he stood. He should see a chiropractor.

He advanced, while I shuffled back.

"Hello?" He continued.

I hid behind a tree, standing up, I squeezed my eye shut, "Wh-Why are y-you here?" I asked, my voice frozen like the air nibbling at my revealed skin.

"I didn't know it was occupied by another." He replied.

I peeked out from behind the tree, him staring in my direction, "Well, it is." I said stepping out.

"Okay, I'll go."

He started to walk away, pulling out the thing that was in his pocket.

A lighter.

My breath hollowed. I watched as he rubbed his thumb over it, I heard the flint click. A glowing flame arose.

"Wait." I said, pulling my hands into balls.

"Yeah?"

What are you doing?

"Can I see your lighter?" I asked anxiously,  trying to choke it down.

"Sure." He said as he flung it in my direction. I caught it, cradling it in my hands. I beamed down at the green lighter. I flicked it on, watching the flame glare at me. I walked away from the guy, bending down to light the kindling I set up last the last time I visited here.

I was vigilant. Watching the combustion of flames.

"May I stay for the fire?"

I ignored him. I studied the burning sticks and twigs. I shut my eyes, the fire still burning inside my eyelids. I respired, taking in the smoke, the fumes in the musky air, the air never felt so fresh. I exhaled, opening my eyes again.

"Pyromaniac." he said.

"What?" I said shocked, I twisted my head towards him getting comfortable on a fallen tree a few feet away from the fire. I stared back into the fire, I watched the flames dance, bringing a heat that smacked my face forcefully. The guy said something else, but it was blurred out, "What?" I repeated.
