As you all may know the new tv show Shadowhunters premiered on Tuesday. It played on ABC Family which was starting their "cover" I guess is a word you could use, Freeform. And this tv is based on the Mortal Instruments series!

WARNING SPOILERS FOR TV SHOW AND BOOKS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This will be sort of like a book talk, but with tv and in writing and not through video.
So anyway my predictions were that it wasn't going to follow the book completely and I was right, but they introduced something totally new.
A necklace given to Clary by her mother before she disappears.
Now why is that introduced and how does it relate?
No idea.
And I found Jace not as sarcastic as he was in the book which was a little disappointing, but Simon was His sarcastic funny self, which I enjoyed.
Also they skipped the scene where Clary and Jace meet outside the poetry slam also where Jace says when putting a rune on Clary
There is a ten percent chance this will work.
Which was an awesome scene taken out.
Also the conversation Clary had on the phone with her mother before she disappeared happened in real life not on the phone and you also had a better idea of where she went, where in the book you were finding out things as Clary was so it wasn't as obvious where she was.
Now please don't hate me for saying this, but I felt Katherine McNamara was not the best cast for Clary. For me Clary's demeanor didn't seem like that strong feisty female lead character we were first introduced to in the books. Katherine did look the part don't get me wrong, but I don't think she was the best portrayal for Clary in this series.
Two words Matthew Daddario
I think that's all I need to say cause I would be putting in the heart eyes emoji right now because I have no criticism for him.
Dom Sherwood was a great actor in this, but once again we were not exposed to the sarcastic  Jace we had in the books, but I have high hopes that he will become more sarcastic as the series progresses. He did have that one line "what? No thank you for saving your life?" Which was awesome, but still it was one of few sarcastic remarks.
I know I left out a lot, but I have to finish my homework for tomorrow! I will review episode 2 as well!
Let me know your opinion on the tv series down in the comments and share with me anything I left out!
Love ya!
