I stood looking out the window this was the first morning in my whole time of living that I woke in my bedroom looked out my window and didn't reconise what I saw. I was used to beautiful rolling hills with a perfect white fence crisscrossing back and forth over the beautiful green land and a stone driveway that led up through it all and what I was looking at completely different scene. It was a much smaller front yard that had a broken stone pathway that led from the road up to the front door along the border there is a wire old wooden fence I don't want to hate but how old is this place? I stop myself I couldn't really complain this is the place we would be living in for a few years so I might as well get used to it. I quickly get an outfit and get ready for the day. I hear a metalic thump and I run to my window just in time to see the mailman close the mailbox and hope into his truck and continue down the road.
I run downstairs stopping halfway to catch some boxes that I knocked over. Once they are placed exactly back where they were I finish my way down the stairs at a slower pace. I walk up to the front door and see a note on it
Tammi, I'm going to town to look for a job, there is some food in the Fridge you can make something for breakfast I should be back before lunch in case Im not there is a number for a local pizza place and some money on the table in the kitchen. Love You! ~Mom
I throw the post-it note in the waste basket and walk out the door.
I wish I put shoes on! I thought as I stepped onto the cold stones and after some careful stepping I made it to the mailbox and pulled out the mail there was only about five letters in there so I shut it and run back into the house.
My Mother got our mail transferred over to new house a couple weeks ago and she had been coming here trying to clear out everything and get our stuff in, last night was the first time I ever even looked at the house and im still not quite sure what I think of it.
I sift threw each letter, not me, not me, not me, not me, Tyler? I look at the letter then realize that the address isn't ours, I go inside drop the other letters on table and send a text to my mom, get on a pair of shoes, lock the door, and head down the road. We moved to a forested area so houses weren't very close but I may say they weren't close in my old neighborhood either but that was because everybody owned large properities. I walk for about 10 minutes then come up to a house that had a similar build but was obviously had people maintaining it unlike ours. I walk up and rhythmically knock on the door. I waited for what seemed like an hour and just as I was going to turn around the door opens and I don't make eye contact and simply ask "Does a Tyler Cole live here?"
"Umm... Ye-Yea..." I look up and find a boy about my age dripping wet and a towel wrapped around his waist.
