Xavier took in a deep breath before preparing himself to enter the hotel and be scolded by his parents. Now that he really thought about it, maybe it hadn't been the best idea he'd ever thought of.
But he did benefit from it. He got to talk to the paparazzi girl for the first time. He could feel his heart starting to slow down at last after being with her. He felt as if his breathing had stopped by just being so close to her, inside of a car. He took a step up the front stairs, right before the doors slid open.
Here comes the yelling.
He walked in cautiously, looking around the lobby until his eyes landed on two very angry people with their arms crossed in front of their chests while the other seemed to be in a different planet, which was his dad. He was reading a magazine that had been left out.
"Don't you ever do that, mister!" His mom shouted as she pointed her index finger at him angrily from across the lobby.
He held his arms up in surrender, ready to play the part of innocence He was actor, he could totally pull this off. He knew it would get them more angry than they already were. He just couldn't help it.
"Do what?" He asked, holding his hand on his chest.
She gave him a glare and came closer to him, her eyes sparkling with anger. She was ready to erupt on him. He could feel it. Anthony came along, and when he reached him, he hit Xavier on the arm, very hard.
"What the hell," he shouted but couldn't help but laugh.
Anthony's eyes were full of range as he stared him down. Oh boy. Maybe he should of thought twice before doing that back there. His hand grabbed Xavier's ear and pulled him towards the elevator. His hand was holding his ear tight. Xavier groaned in pain.
Fuck.
When they reached their floor, he walked to the room, rubbing his ear as his team followed behind him.
"Do you know how dangerous that was?" Anthony clenched his hands into fists. His face was turning redder by the minute. "A stranger's car?"
"I'm sorry, okay? I just couldn't help it." Xavier told him, trying to hide his laughter with all his strength.
"Never, ever do that again!" His mom yelled when she had barged into room behind his dad, who was still trying to stay out of the argument. "You don't even know who that "You don't even know who that was! Anything could've happened to you. Use your brain, Xavier!"
He rolled his eyes and got of the bed, walking towards the wall and leaning into it. How did he get himself out of this mess now?
"It wasn't a big deal," he told them calmly, after the burst of laugh fits he had were easing down. "I sort of know her, I see her all the time."
Both their eyes widened at his response. If this were a cartoon, steam would be coming out of their nose and ears. They looked as if they were going to explode any minute now. A little too far, maybe?
"Who was that then?" His mom was glaring at him.
"She's always around, I'm surprised you haven't noticed. She's a paparazzi."
"You got into a car with a paparazzi?" Her mom asked in disbelief. "Since when do you do that? You are so stupid, oh, my God-"
Right when Anthony was about to tell Xavier something, or more like yell it, Tyler walked into the room. Xavier wanted to talk to him after what happened. He sat down on the black computer chair they had next to the table where Xavier's laptop was placed. Tyler wanted to see the argument. He loved it when Xavier got in trouble. Somehow, it entertained him. He loved the way Xavier did pranks and how it came back to bite him in the ass.
"I need to talk to Tyler, privately," Xavier told everyone, hoping they wouldn't ask any questions.
His mom gave him a weird look before asking, "Why?"
So much for the wishing. "Just need a minute to talk about something with him."
His mom shook her head, "This conversation isn't over, Xavier. You are seventeen years old, you're almost an adult. Start acting like it."
They all gave him a look before finally leaving the room. Finally some quiet. Tyler came up to Xavier and sat down on the bed, crossing his arms. He knew what he was going to talk about. Xavier could see it in his face and by the way he was grinning.
"I finally talked to the paparazzi girl," he told him, the smile coming back to his face in an instant.
His eyebrow raised as high as they could go. "Really? Hm, what's her name? I've been wondering."
In that moment, he felt like an idiot for not getting it out of the paparazzi girl when he had her so close. He was dying to know so he could put a name to the face he couldn't get out of his head. What a fucking idiot.
"I don't know," he told him truthfully as he sighed.
Tyler chuckled quietly and kept his brow raised.
"Okay, then. It's official. You're a dumbass," he told him with a laugh.
Xavier came up to him and smacked him on the face playfully. The expression of shock that appeared on his face made him burst out in laughter all over again. He watched as Xavier almost fell to the ground, laughing like a complete idiot.
"I'm your bodyguard. I should be the one slapping you." He frowned, still watching Xavier laugh.
He rolled his eyes as he got up, trying to calm down, succeeding a bit. "Well, I did find something out."
"Oh, yeah. What is it?"
"Her eye color, fucking finally. It's gorgeous. They're green."
Her voice, her smile, her demeanor, the small amount of time he had spent with her had grown his attraction to her by so much, it was hard to understand it. He couldn't wait to see her again and her camera.
God, that smile.
"Xavier, you're just so adorable when you have a crush," Tyler joked.
"Oh, shut up," Xavier said while he rolled his eyes.
Tyler laughed this time and just shrugged his shoulders. Xavier took a moment to appreciate that Tyler always gave him the chance to reflect on what is going on in his life with no judgement.
"I appreciate the talk, Tyler." Tyler nodded.
"Okay, enough talk. You should get to sleep. Tomorrow's the big day," he announced as he opened the door, allowing everyone else to come in.
"No more of those stunts, understood?" Xavier's mom was stern. She looked tired, and she still had a few meeting to go to for the rest of the day with Anthony.
Xavier nodded his head and went into the bathroom to change into his clothes. He came out of the bathroom and sat down on his bed after grabbing his computer. With the award show coming up tomorrow, he had to take the time to self promote on social media.
His dad secretly come to him and whispered, "Good prank. Never thought you had it in you." A proud smile came over his face. No wonder he wasn't upset. He actually was proud of that.
Like father, like son.
As Xavier turned on his side and opened his laptop, the only thing that he could think about was the girl. Tomorrow, he would see her again. The girl that was slowly dominating his every thought.
And he didn't even know her name.
