The New Student

[December]
I wake up and it's a school day. The alarm clock is beeping. I groaned and sat up. I looked at the alarm clock and shut it off.

"It's-" I yawned, "7:00." I stand up and stretched. I have a elemental test today and I didn't study. "Oh whale." I said shrugging.

I went to the bathroom and did all my morning routine. Then I changed into my uniform.

Everyone has different uniform for different elements. I put on my blue jacket and grabbed my bag.

I don't eat breakfast so I just off everything in the house and went outside. I have the key to the house.

"Everything here?" I put down and opened my bag and check if everything is in there. "Yup. Everything I need is in here. Well I hope so." I said laughing.

I grabbed my bag and went on walking to school. "Its so cold." I said as I walk to school.

{Time skip}
I arrived at school. Luckily I took the short cut. I would've been late becasue the bell just rang. I run to class. The teacher arrived two minutes after.

"Settle down." The teacher said. He took attendance. "Joyce Rose." He said. I said "here." And he stared at me and I stared back.

I looked at the window because it was getting awkward. The basketball court outside looks like it been renewed.

Well it's not. Twenty years since It been there. The bell rang for first period. I went out to my class, which has a test I didn't study for.

I groaned a bit and then I went in. The teacher came in with a student. "Class. Meet our new student. Introduce yourself." The teacher said.

"My name is Samuel Baker." He said waving. Hm. Samuel Baker. "Nice name." I thought. He looks similar to me.

He has a blue jacket like me and he has blue eyes and dark brown hair. Well I have red eyes and light brown hair.

"Samuel. Sit next to her." He pointed at me. Samuel looked for me and I raised my hand low. He smiled and walked to his desk next to mine in the back. The right of me.

"Name's Joyce. Joyce Rose." I said holding out my hand to shake his. I wanted to prank him.

He shook my hand and he felt a shock. "That was quite shocking." I grinned and laughed.

He laughed and the teacher said "Joyce, stop doing that to Samuel." Then Samuel whispered "Nice one." He sort of laughed. I laughed too.

"We have a elemental test today. Samuel, since you are new, you won't do the test." The teacher said. "Lucky bastard." I said quietly to Sam and I didn't know if he heard me.

I think Sam heard me because I heard him giggled. I blushed and looked at the window. I fixed my hood of my jacket and the teacher handed the test out.

I have a headache even at the fifth question and there's twenty questions in all. "Fuck this." I said quietly. Sam just smiled.

School is different around here than plain human schools. Instead of gym, we have elemental magic fight. I mostly won all.

There's not much that is different. It's just magical around here.

{Time skip}
The bell rang and the teacher said "Time's up. Hand up the test." Yes it took an hour for me to do the test.

I got up and went up to the teacher's desk. Then I faced the test upside down. Then went back to get my bag and left.

There's break after this so, I walked into the elemental gym. I guess for humans, you call them a gym. "Joyce?" I heard a voice calling me.
