It has now been three months after the divorce was declared final, ten months after Daniel had kicked him out of his house. Eva had managed to get a small apartment that was affordable. She was barely managing to get by with the small salary she got from working at the day care and all the jobs she had tried applying for didn't work out and as they say, last one hired first one fired, she had been working at a café for the evening shift after getting off from work but was fired barely two weeks later with the manager saying that they didn't need that many waitresses, she had tried pleading for the job but the price he wanted her to pay well I think you know what he wanted... her dignity in return for her job.
Her manager at the daycare called her into the office and she immediately got a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach. The look on the manager's face was not a good one, it spelt doom.
"yes? What did you want to talk to me about?" Eva asked nervously, her instinct told her that she was not about to receive any sort of good news.
"I'm sorry to tell you that we are closing the daycare," Mary said looking at her sadly.
"what? Why?" Eva asked looking pale.
"my husband has been transferred and I can't afford to keep the daycare running from where we are going," she said with a sigh. At that moment Eva saw the world fall at her feet, this was the only thing she had permanent in her life and now it was gone like a cloud of smoke. She stood on shaky feet and headed for the washroom to try and compose herself she didn't want the children to see her looking the way she did.
She stared at herself in the mirror and saw how empty her eyes were, her face didn't have the healthy look it once had, but the worst of all was that she didn't even have the urge to cry, she felt numb. She splashed some water on her face and walked out of the room plastering a smile for the sake of the children, they were the one thing that kept her going but now she had nothing. Being a Friday, it meant that come the following week she wouldn't have any job because Mary was moving during the weekend and she had already informed the children's parents the previous week.
It was five in the evening when Eva took her things and walked out of the building that was the source of the little income she had. She walked home because it was just a few blocks from where she worked. She had sold her car several months earlier because she couldn't afford to maintain it and she had also needed the money real bad. She walked into the apartment and leaned on the door after closing it and took a deep breath then let go before walking to her bedroom. Her stomach growled she sighed and walked to the small kitchenette to get something to eat only to find there was absolutely nothing to eat, that was when she broke down.
She slid down the fridge door in tears sobbing with only one thought, she wished she had somewhere to turn to but she had absolutely no one. She curled into a ball sobbing thinking of how she wouldn't be able to pay the month's rent, she was already two months behind, and had been threatened with eviction. She cried herself to sleep on the cold floor. That night she fell asleep on that cold hard floor.

Maxwell walked into the house and froze at the sight before him, his sons' nanny was busy making outwith some guy on his couch while he could hear the children crying through the monitor, he was fuming with so much anger but he didn't even stop them he first had to take care of his sons. He walked to the nursery that was next to his room and was immediately hit by a foul smell. He rushed and cleaned his hands and took both kids and placed them on the changing table. He changed them and got angrier when he realized that they had a diaper rush.
Kate froze when he realized that the kids were no longer crying, she pushed the man off her and rushed to the nursery and noticed the nursery was empty with different sheets in the cot. She started panicking, what was she going to tell Maxwell, she heard movement in the master bedroom and went in scared only to find Maxwell playing with the boys on the bed. She froze and paled, she hadn't even heard him come home. She went to speak but Maxwell beat her to it.
"You are fired." He said and went back to playing with the boys.
"But Max.."
"Don't you ever call me that again, and I want you and that hoodlum you were with out of my house. If that is how you have been taking care of my children for the past one month.."he stopped talking because he didn't want to lose his temper in front of the kids, he took a deep breath, "get out of my house, I won't even pay you the salary, that is your punishment for what you didn't to my sons and if you demand for it you won't like the consequences."
Kate paled and slowly walked out of the room knowing it would be a very bad idea to try and argue with the Maxwell Johns, he was a ruthless business man that was merciless and as a result no one in their right mind ever went against him. If you knew what was good for you; you stayed on his good books or else you would regret it.
Maxwell called his secretary and told her to arrange for an ad to be placed for a nanny for the daycare specifically for his sons, because he planned to have his sons near him all the time, he didn't want another incident like the one that took place today to happen again.
