Good Morning!

How could I ever forget this year- 1983. It was the year that changed everything. From cars, to cassettes, to hoop earrings, this might have been the best year of my life.

"Wake up!" mom screams from the base of the stairs. But I still pretend to be asleep, because school is hell. But then Joey, my little brother comes in and calls me a dork, and mom catches me nearly punching him. So I dreadfully slump down the stairs. Of course, Joey, Lilla (my little sister), Robert (my older brother), and Mary (my older sister) were all awaiting my entrance in the kitchen, not to mention Mom and Dad. But life seemed to stink, as tomorrow was my birthday, and all the focus was on Lilla, because she was having First Communion tomorrow as well. Of course, the school bus was filled with all the guys hitting on the girls, and the girls filing their nails, and the geeks in their books, and then in the back, the cool kids.

Arriving at school is like the worst thing ever. My friends are just me, Trevor, Leslie, Joe, Bob, Margaret, Sammy, Kathy, Randy, Marc, Sandy, George, and okay actually there are a lot, but all you need to remember is Trevor and Leslie.

Trevor screams at me as I walk down the hallway, we had been friends since 2nd grade, and this was June of Senior year, we were right on our way to college, and him, Leslie, and I were all going to Dartmouth College, for medical practices. And so much had happened between us. We were unseperable. Sure, we all had the rest of the 34 people in our gang, but we had a special bond- Something that was unbreakable. My parents had not told me any plans for my birthday, except that we would be celebrating Lilla's First Communion. I wasn't sure if they even remembered! But Trevor and Leslie did. They had saved up all of their money and bought three tickets to Police concert! And they had just come out with a new album, "Sychronicity", featuring their hit "Every Breath You Take". I was super excited! All Trevor would talk about was the concert. Once he chased me down in the hallway, he told me about the seats he and Leslie bought. Now I am sitting in homeroom, recording all of this. I wouldn't quite call this a journal, but more of an up to date record of my life. The bell rings, and I have to go.
