Marceline is about 1,000 years old, (a little older,) because she was alive as these things were happening, and the Mushroom War is said to take place 1,000 years ago. The Ice King was a man named Simon, and he said that the crown made him crazy. This can be taken down to read between the lines and what it really means is that someone had too much power; it got to their heads.
The Enchridion has the date the Earth was made on it. Another theory is that Adventure Time is what would've happened if the Cold War actually had happened. Notice how everything Finn & Jake own are from the era that the Cold War was happening? Or what about Simon's (Ice King before the crazy,) videos, how he is dressed.. it makes sense. Back to the other theory... Just in case you're confused, Ice King & Marceline are the only survivors of the Mushroom War, apart from Finn. Marceline's dad, Hunson Abadeer, is technically a survivor, but he was said to be in the Nightosphere when the bomb was dropped.
