" Come on we're late and it's all because of you !!! "
I shouted directing my voice upstairs, as if it wasn't loud enough for the whole neighbourhood to hear . Amongst all things I hate in the world , being tardy on my first day of anything is the worst , let alone the first day of my FREAKING senior year in a new FREAKING school !!!
I finally saw Eric hurling down whilst trying to fix his golden messy locks , what was that moron doing all of this time if he didn't even bother to brush his ' all directions' hair ! What an irresponsible brother , older brother to be precise ...
" Stop whining Annie , let's get going" . He said trying to calm me down. It didn't work .
We got into his car and I switched from angry mode to nervous one . I know it sounds silly and daffy and may be pathetic , but that's how it was, I'm 18 and school still gives me butterflies partying in my tommy ! I guess it's because I've never been the popular girl, not a cheerleader , not a diva and not even a joker; I was always just "there". May be I'm the kind of people that can't be really put in a category because they stand out as a category of their own ( I'm not being vain , I meant it in a negative way ) . All what I was hoping for this year was blending in with a clique and stop being pictured as a ' regular boring typical' kind of girls, obviously showing up late wasn't part of this plan .
After a long nerve-wrecking drive, Eric pulled up in the school car parking . To my relief students were still mingling and chatting there , which meant only one thing
" The bell hasn't............." before I finish my chuffed sentence to Eric , I was interupted by its subject ' The bell' .
I got out of the car and rushed to the school building . Luckily I found my locker super fast ; I put my books and notes there and took what I needed for my first english class , but that wasn't the end. I still had to actually find the class.
Looking at the many doors on both sides, I started wandering in the school hallways. Asking someone wasn't an option for me , basically that's because I'm foolishly shy and I didn't want to look like the school's new dork . I know it wouldn't have sounded like that, it would've probably just sounded like a new girl asking about her class ; which is pretty normal, yet the idea sounded scary then.
" Hey . You're new here, right ? ". I looked on my right and there stood the most friendly looking happy go lucky girl i've ever seen .
" ah yes. hey , I'm Annie " my voice came out jerky and weak . The happy girl smiled to me and I found myself smiling back her happiness was contagious !
"Nice to meet you , I'm juliette " unlike my sentences hers was much more smooth.
" What class do you have now ? let me help you find it and then we can talk more after it finishes"
I was unbelievably relieved by her words , " I've got english" .
I was waiting for the " me too " reply but instead I heard her saying " Ok. let me show you where it is and then I can head to my geography class "
Honestly it was enough to find such a friendly student willing to help you , having the same first class was kind of over perfection for a normal scholar day , so i nodded and followed her.
