Roads leave behind bad memories

I started out the window of Hope's old red Chevy, barley catching a glimpse of cars as they sped past in a desperate blur. I sighed, fogging up the glass slightly. "Hope..." I slurred, not being bothered to speak properly. "Yeah." She replied, glancing over at me for a moment before going back to the road. "Do you think anyone will recognize us from..." I hesitated. "Before?" Hope's knuckles turned white from her deadly grip on the steering wheel. "I think that in a town like that, nothing changes but us." With that we drove in silence for the rest of the trip and I was left to bury myself in my own thoughts.

I was found at someone's doorstep as a small baby, a drug dealer no less. He took me in but treated more like a slave as I grew up rather than a child. He'd beat me senseless, leaving my limp body wounded and bruised on the floor wile he went out to smoke. Five days after I turned 16 I had enough. He demanded me to make diner so when I grabbed the knife to chop up the meat, I decided to go for him instead. Plus the other twelve men in there. I ended up walking out of that room, covered in flesh and blood, smiling as wide as the moon as I did. I never came back. My mother suffered the same fate. Only I hunted her down and slowly slit her rists, then her stomach, finally the knife got buried in her neck.
"Eloise don't make me slap you. We are here so get your ass out of the damn car." She said, raising her voice and interrupting my own personal horror story. I shook my head and looked up at my childhood. "Your right. Nothing has changed." I remarked, looking worried at the old town buildings and in particular the police station. Robbert was staring at me barking orders to the other police. His hair was grey with age but still you could see in his eyes that he hadn't aged a day. Since the day that we left. He knew we would come back, how long he had been waiting there I had no idea how long. He looked like a predator, ready to pounce. "Hope..." "Yeah I noticed. You'd think he would have forgotten by now." She simply remarked, deliberately pulling in to the police station. "We're going to jail anyways, might as well save them the trip." "You mean I am going to jail. They always liked you." I sneered. Hope was the people person, not me.

We got out of the car and two dozen police officers came tumbling out carrying guns and riot shields. "I see you still know how to greet a lady properly Robb." I said putting my palms flat in the air. "Your not a lady. Your a murderous bitch." He growled out and I could see Hope's frown from a mile away. PLEASE don't say anything stupid. I thought in my mind. All though to be honest I sort of knew she would. "Bitch please. Those men where filthy con artists and drug addicts. You would have taken them to jail anyway, so Eloise was doing you a favor by freeing up room for other criminals to be locked up, but I guess you where too busy fucking someone else's wife to do your job." Robbert's face got bright red with pure rage. "Little miss if you do not shut up I will have the authority to restrain you." He shouted. "Restrain this!" Before any of the other guards could act, Hope swiftly ran over and kicked him in the crown jewels. (If you get what I mean.)

"You shouldn't have." I said from where I sat in the cell beside Hope. "But it was so worth it." She sighed and I nodded smiling. "Yeah it was." I paused, thinking for a short moment. "Next time go for the gun."
"He'll see it coming, it's too obvious."
"Exactly. It will buy me time to grab a taser." She nodded enthusiastically. Then we can strip him naked and keep zapping him in and out of consciousness." Sound of footsteps tapped quietly against the floor, momentarily interrupting our banter, a small man with a short brown beard approached. "Talking about me are you again darlings? Hello, by the way my name is Crowley. Pleasure to meet your acquaintance."
